I help my daughter with her shop. I called and sent the appropriate paper work to our congress woman's office a few weeks ago so it would would come to her attention. Called today to see what, if anything was happening. "When did you send it?" I am so discouraged. It's hard to stay nice but firm on the phone but I managed. They're "looking into it".
I love that letter! I read yesterday that the aide to Congressman Dan Lungren wanted stories from small business owners about the horrendous effects this law is going to have on everyone. I phoned and talked to her at length and gave her my story to add to the others that she is giving to Congressman Lungren to take with him. She was extremely nice and is totally supportive, but she said she isn't really encouraged about the problem because Waxman is refusing to budge. She will email me at the end of next week and let me know what the results of the meeting are- I don't understand how one man can have so much power~

Just curious...CAN you send packages to federal offices? Will they actually go through? I was thinking about sending an art print and being like "seriously folks use some common sense: how on EARTH can this have lead in it, really?"

Thanks, Eileen! No white powder, no sirree! That might be HAZARDOUS. Of course, after February 10th everything everyone makes will be hazardous too, so I better send it before then.
