Re: Lead Law disclaimer - Jewelry Artisians

Which type of lead disclaimer are you looking to post? The one pertaining to the California Lead in Jewlery and Proposition 65 or are you talking about the CPSIA lead laws?

Re: Lead Law disclaimer - Jewelry Artisians

I put this in the announcement section of my site.

"My products are not intended for children under the age of 13. Note that I have not tested my items for lead per the CPSIA due to they are not intended for use by children and will not fit them."

Also, I have printed out labels that I apply to the bag each item is in stating that it is not intended for children.

I am also working on something for the California lead law. (Currently researching it.)

Re: Lead Law disclaimer - Jewelry Artisians

You are not making children's jewelery. You are not marketing to children. Your designs are obviously for adults or late teens. You are not under any obligation to CPSIA about this law.

Keep your eyes on the Illinois Law now too....worse than the CA law! Here is the initial, but there is some amendments going on.

Re: Lead Law disclaimer - Jewelry Artisians

Thank you for posting about this! I am careful not to post items that would be considered children's products, but I never thought to post a disclaimer on my site.
