exempt from what exactly? what type product will you be making? if it's made of wool it falls under the ftc wool label requirements.

no, you can use felt.

Felt is exempt from testing but you still have to label with CPSIA and FTC info.

I read that orange felt has tested with levels of lead in it. I would be careful to use orange felt because you may be subject to testing labs for it. Look at other felt CPSIA threads to find out more.

So I could make stuff for kids with felt but make sure and label it properly? I still can't wrap my head around all this.

I just dug this thread up. I am wondering if the felt that is made of 100 percent recycled bottles would be exempt. Would it have to be tested for Phthalates because it is made of plastic, or would it be considered a textile? I'm not sure how it would be categorized. Maybe I should start a new thread? I figured if there was already one...? Hope it's ok.
