I spent a little time looking around and am not sure about this.

Right now what I make that is for kids has exempt materials (I know that may not be permanent.) So, do I still need to have permanent labels?

Re: If my materials are exempt (yarn for example) do I need to label?

I'm so glad I only make hats for babies..Head gear is exempt!!! (Unless it's wool ;-) which I rarely use anyway.) I love it..

Where does it say that head gear is exempt?

I read that yarn is exempt. Has anyone else read that?

Yarn is only exempt until February 2010 as far as I know; who knows what will happen then. You also still need to label accurately no matter what.

So if I make baby hair clips I need to put a sticker label of what I use on the plastic bag I put them in? What if I dont know the batch numbers?

Bumping this back to the top about this - where does it say that head gear is exempt? This is the first time I've heard this. And what constitutes 'head gear'? Just hats? If you want to stretch it like other interpretations have been stretched, then I would consider hair clips 'head gear'.

Anyone know?

Yarn used for any purpose, including wool, is exempt from *testing* for an undetermined "interim," presumably til Feb.

No child's product is exempt from labeling, and if "head gear" is an item of clothing, it is already required, by previously existing laws, to have a label.
