And I really REALLY hope I did my fellow Etsians proud! :) I mentioned Etsy a few times and talked with the reporter about it afterwards so hopefully he'll plug it in the story!
He's talking to Henry Waxman and he's going to try to talk to the CPSC early next week, so I was the "human interest" segment of the piece :)
It actually went really well and I was able to not only show WHY this law would put all of us out of business, but also push my two main thoughts: exemptions of known lead-free supplies and component testing.
Not to mention putting thousands of businesses out of business in this already crappy economy.
He did a video interview, took some shots of me sewing (embarrasingly enough, we're in a rental house right now so my sewing "room" is the corner of the living room!) and a little more video. He said there is a good chance that just some photos and my written interview will end up on the website, but I'm still happy about it. Hopefully it will get us more exposure!
The good news is that he was pleasantly surprised at how excited and interested in the story his editors were. If THEY were interested, there is a chance that the tv portion might be and it could get on the news.
I'll post a link when the story is up! :)
