I don't get it

Why isn't the requirement on the seller of the materials rather than the manufacturer? If you buy materials to manufacture items for your own child you wouldn't test, is your child in danger? Seems to me that any materials bought in the US should be OK. Have the lawmakers gone wild?

Because that would make too much sense!!! I've thought the same thing! How will anyone who make things for their own children be able to be assured their creations are safe???
