I am so new to this CPSIA

So I understand I need the 2 tags. question is I buy my stuff individually for each piece. Does any one know if there are labels out there that I could write the information on with a marker that does not washout?

You only need to worry about CPSIA if you are selling to children 12 and under. But you will need FTC tags for your adult items. You can order standard FTC tags from places like North West Tag. NWT.com. They are very resonable.

I have just taken an order for easter dresses for 9mo old and 2 year old so Now I'm freaking out about these labels the cpsia and FTC my husband spent hours trying to figure out what was supposed to for on each tag for each piece. since I didn't write it all down when I bought it, I have no idea who made the fabric, I know where I bought it. I think it is all 100% cotton, what does each tag need to say and since I purchase each fabric individually per outfit are there labels I can buy and write on them myself???? HELP

Go to the CPSIA website and google the FTC tagging info.

For the CPSIA tag info. you need:
Your business name
Contact Info (email address will be fine)
Location where item is being made
DOM (date of manufacture)
They need ot be permanently attached. Keep in mind that the labels and ink used also needs to be on the exempt list or you need test results to make sure they are compliant.

I got my labels from MissLabel here on Etsy but there are lots of other label makers as well.

The FTC label info. needs to have other info. like care instructions and fiber content. Check the FTC website to see if you need them to be permanently attached. Not all items need permanent FTC labels, hang tags may be used.

You know it's enough to make one give up the dream and go back to 12 hour ER shifts of screaming puking patients, welling trauma surgeon, dying patients frightened children frantic parents rude staff, no breaks....
At least that all made sense to me.
