How many of you are closing your doors?

Just curious as to how many of you are closing your doors (shutting your lap tops) b/c you will be affected by this?

Also, after all is said and done will we be able to buy and use products that have already been tested? Ie: Gerber onesies and such. We won't have to have them retested?

Yeah, lilipops! I'll have to read Civil Disobedience again, but I think one of the things Thoreau said in it is that it's our patriotic duty to disobey unfair laws. America was founded by people who were fighting their government's attempts to control them too much, we're just continuing the tradition.

Here is my solution if all of this mess doesn't blow over and the laws don't get adjusted: Each one of us picks a partner seller and trades items of equal value as gifts to each other, in return we put them up for sale as used items. We didn't manufacture them, we just got them as a gift and are now selling them just like a thrift or consignment store......that would really make them mad!

Interesting, Sugar...you know, someone on another thread pointed out that it's really surprising that environmentalists aren't up in arms over CPSIA. The whole idea of otherwise perfectly good children's items going to landfills should be driving them nuts!

I'm closing part of my store, which is the main part :( In fact I panicked today and started a CPSIA sale because I leave the 24th for a 2 1/2 week vacation. I will need to go in vacation mode at that point. So I thought I would try to get rid of all of it before I leave.

Flossy... that idea flirts with genius. Like what if I started an online consigment shop that only sold handmade, "nearly new" items. It's not like you can prove that something is or isn't used. I can't tell you how much unworn, unused, brand NEW stuff I have donated to thrift stores or put in a kid's consignment shop. Hmmmm...
