How long for "saferproducts.gov/SmallBatchManufacturers" to respond?

I registered over 2 weeks ago and I still haven't received the email with the password info. I received the initial confirmation email.

I did receive an email, but I am afraid it is a scam of some sort. It is from BLupari@cpsc.gov. There is nothing in the text about password info or activation, BUT there is an attachment that is titled "Additional Information to Activate Account." I definitely know better than opening unknown attachments!

How did your password/account activation info come to you? Any help is appreciated!

Donna and elena, Open the email, you did not provide them with a business email and they are needing more information from you. IT IS NOT A SCAM. It is not an unkown attachment. You can find out all the things that we have gone thru on some of the threads on this forum. Follow the directions.

I got that: Composed a letter with the information they requested, attached it to an email as indicated in the letter and received my log in a few days later.

Thanks to both of you! I opened it earlier today and am getting the info together. Joan, did you use actual letterhead or just type it up like letterhead?

If you will search a little lower on this forum you will see that the CPSC has given us permission to follow a simpler form. We have already fought that battle for small batch manufacturers.

Here, read this,

The new girl is the other name some of you have received email from. Her last name is BLupari, she is very, very nice also.

Beverly from FayeMaloneDesigns says Edited on Dec 27, 2011
Well, I decided to call and have a chat with the woman who is processing and sending out the letters. She was very nice when I explained that we are not their definition of small businesses. We are one woman operations in many cases. And that many do not have domains/web sites. I have a website but I hadn't set up my webmail on it. So I used my personal Fayemalonedesigns web address. Well, they need to go directly to a domain, as they are trying to fit us little guys into the big guy mold. She agreed that there needed to be some revisions. We chatted some more, and I explained about our etsy teams, and she cut and pasted me a quick format for you all to use.

I went ahead and set up my web site email, and she deleted my first registration and I'm going to reregister, using my domain site only.

But if you use your personal email, or other email that they can not verify that you are a direct contact you will get a letter, Do not be concerned, just fill out the information simplifed below and send it to her. It does not have to be on company letterhead.

Hi Beverly:

Per our conversation here is the easier format for the small companies to follow. First they need to register, they will receive a validation letter request from us, and then they can follow-up with a the information I have below:

Please submit a letter with your signature to include the following information. You can scan and email it, OR send it through the US mail OR fax it to the number below:

Business Name:
Your Name:

Title:

Address:

Telephone number:

Email address:

And a statement with the following:

I certify that (name of your company) is a manufacturer, importer or private labeler of a consumer product or other substance over which the CPSC has jurisdiction and that (name of the person) is authorized to receive and comment on Reports on behalf of (name of your company).
