Help for a newbie

I just opened my etsy store last month and started stocking my store last week.

I clicked in here to look over the forums this morning and came upon this whole topic that in general (I think) means its going to mean a whole lot of extra work to keep my shop open to sell the type of items I want to sell.

Would someone be willing to look at my shop and give me a basic run down of what I'll need to do to be in accordance with the new laws that are going into affect?

All of your items fall under CPSIA - look at this thread and then look at all of the links in the first post to learn what you will need to do to be in compliance.

Until February you will need to have CPSIA compliant tags on your items and your clothing will need FTC tags as well. Check out the links JewelrydesignbyME included on this thread for detailed information about the tag requirements:

That thread's a great place to start. Most of your items (to me, but I'm not a lawyer!) look compliant. Where most run into problems is with items like buttons, zippers, etc. Textiles are exempt from testing, so those are safe. The thread above has links to lists of exempt items, etc. Good luck~ your doll is so sweet!

what is this about? CPSIA? very new to etsy...curious.

nonchaloir, check out the links above... it's a ton of info, but worth the read if you make items geared toward children 12 and under.
