I was poking around the CPSIA website and found this AWESOME flowchart created by the Handmade Toy Alliance

It's not just for toys - it talks about clothes other things as well. It is the most straightforward explanation of what needs to be tested etc. that I have ever seen.

Just thought it might be helpful to someone else besides me! =0)

Awesome! I'm so glad to help... obviously, I wasn't the only one impressed by its simplicity. =0)

I just couldn't believe it at first! Everything from CPSIA seems SO complicated. Why couldn't they have come out with something like this a year ago? No. Wait. Why did someone ELSE have to come up with this at all (Toy Alliance!). Sheesh. This should be on the first page of everything... and I had to find it by accident.

I agree it is a great tool, but as the creator stated, it may not be 100% accurate or used for legal advice. There are gray areas it doesn't touch on.

You can download the powerpoint or PDF file of the CPSIA compliance presentation here. It is pretty straight forward and developed by the CPSIA commission, so it is 100%

I did watch the webcast, that's how I ended up poking around their website! I still like the flowchart, for it's ease of use.

IMPORTANT: I just realized that the flowchart wasn't linked directly from CPSIA, but from Whatisthecpsia.com - somehow I must've ended up over there without realizing I had left the Gov website!
