Hi! I am new here (was selling word of mouth until now) and was planning on opening my Etsy shop in December. I just learned about the CPSIA information and I'm trying to I am trying to track down COC's and GCC's of the materials I use before I open my shop. I did see NinjaBowTique's thread on ribbon which was very helpful!!!!!

I have 3 questions...

1) Spare Parts" Fabric Embellishments by the Paper Studio???? I am still trying to locate information on the maker of "Spare Parts" Fabric Embellishments by the Paper Studio so I can obtain CPSIA certification of these items. When I do a google search, it always seems to lead to Hobby Lobby. Is Hobby Lobby the actual maker of these embellishments (not just a reseller) or does anyone have another source to contact for these products?

2) Are there any US makers of single prong metal clips that are CPSIA certified? All of the ones I have purchased in the past (beauty supply companies) track all the way back to China.

3) Is there an Etsy Team for Barrette/Clip/Bow makers or are most members of the Etsy Kids team?

Thanks!

Beth

Re: Fellow Barrette/Clip/Bow makers...

I get mine from TrimWeaver - last year I had them all XRF tested ( and they came up completely lead free) and now with purchase they will give you the certificate of compliance. :)

I can't wait until all of this passes, it's always a huge concern.

PrincessGrace, where on the Sally's website did you see that the clips are certified? I have looked, but can't seem to find it. I just sent an email to ribbon retreat to ask whether their products are tested. I'll let you know what they say.

Re: Fellow Barrette/Clip/Bow makers...

I meant that I saw the certification on the Hip Girl site. At the time they were only selling Sally's brand clips. They now sell their own brand. I don't buy Sally's clips directly from salon anyways - I don't like their new style ones!
Would be interested to hear what the Ribbon Retreat says since I do purchase from there. Thanks.

Re: Fellow Barrette/Clip/Bow makers...

I am not impressed with the Sally clips lately. The last time I bought from them they had the plastic pin holding it together...yuck! Trimweaver clips have metal pins. Nothing yet from ribbon retreat. Probably won't hear over the holiday weekend either. Just wondering, what type of glues are people using these days? I've checked up on my other supplies, but I'm not completely sure on my glue... this is a bit stressful!

Where do you put your CPSIA and FTC labels? This is all so much! I had no idea, and I don't want to break any laws!
