The issue "Save Small Business From the CPSIA" is currently at 6th place on Change.org
http://www.change.org/ideas/view/save_handmade_toys_from_the_cpsia
and today is the last day to vote.

According to Change.org's website:
"On Friday we will present the top 10 ideas to the Obama administration at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. We'll then connect the winning ideas to leading nonprofits and launch a series of national advocacy campaigns to turn each idea into federal policy."

If you care about this issue, please head over to change.org and vote, and then email all your customers and friends and tell them to vote, too.

Lilzahirascat, I think you just need an email address to vote. The ideas being voted on represent what individuals (anywhere) would like to bring to the attention of the new U.S. administration. But check the website to be sure. Thanks everyone for caring!

I don't make things for kids other than my own, but I have a little dream to do so someday. I also like to buy handmade things for my kids when I can afford it.

My MIL makes jewelry and accessories for craft shows. Most of her work is not for kids, but she could be affected.

My mom makes hand-sewn soft toys, some for collectors, some for kids, and was just featured in Maui magazine. I'd like to see her continue to make her ponies!

I voted- took a while but it worked. I can keep selling my stuff if it is all listed as "art" with all the needful disclaimers, but it's awful that this law was so poorly thought out. I love making toys; I love the handmade kid's stuff; I don't want all these wonderful small businesses to die just because we can't afford the testing.
