CPSIA - should i beware??

Hi - i am aware that there has been some (many) cpsia issues, but i have never thought that they apply to me. I am starting to get a little concerned brand name embroidery floss and are not dyed or modified by myself (aside from tying knots)
My bracelets are intended for those over 12, and are sized for those over 12 - should i be concerned or should i be listening to cpsia stuff?
Sorry i am so ignorant, but a little guidance would be appreciated~!
thanks,
amy

you prob should be listening to what's going on so you are aware. i am not sure if it pertains to you so much because you are gearing your merchandise to kids over 12. But it can't hurt to know. Ya know?

acf3326, textiles need to be labeled in very specific ways, (long before and in addition to CPSIA) and if your jewelry is made of floss, those rules might apply to you. I think bracelets may be excluded, but am not sure.
Here's a link that might help:

As for CPSIA, if the sizing and merchandizing indicates that your product is for the over-12 set, you should not be affected but keeping up with events is wise anyway.

The other issue to take into consideration is that if the CPSIA "police" even THINK your product could be given to or used by children 12 and under you will fall in the group that needs to abide by all old and new CPSIA regulations regarding the selling of children's items. I would venture to guess you will need to label and log everything you create. Sorry, they have cast a very wide net...so if you are not aware of what has been happening for over a year it's time to start doing your homework. If you are not labeling you are already behind...

I agree with Ozarknana. Your items are beautiful, and I'm guessing those bracelets would appeal to the under 12 crowd even if you're intending them for an older crowd. In fact, the first thing I thought when I looked at your shop was that my friends 10 year old daughter would love them! If it was me, I'd attach the labels just to be safe.
