We can't give up now. Things are beginning to change for the better. Some people in Washington are starting to wake up to the fact that this is a horribly written law and it needs to be changed. We must fight on!

Amen to keeping up the fight, and the letters to our elected representatives. I get the feeling that so far it's been mostly sellers who have been active in trying to get Congress to notice the impact on us. But I'm hoping that buyers will join us when they find fewer handcrafted items available for their kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews during holiday shopping. (I can dream anyway! lol)

You need to get in the face of your congress people and your senators. If they don't tell you what you want to hear, look them in their eyes and tell them you will do EVERYTHING you can to vote them out of office at the next election.

All I hear from my representatives is how proud they are to have voted for this bill to keep kids safe. The fight certainly does get exhausting when you're trying to make a point with a brick wall. *Sigh*

Is it just me or is this law set up to crush the onslaught of growing independent artisans in the world that making and selling cooler, more unique and awesome kids products than "they" are? It sure seems like it will make it extremely difficult for crafters to get by with the added costs of getting everything certified... This is good in that it signifies that they must be losing enough money to small "manufacturers" (folks like us) - but bad in that it's going to hurt a lot of innocent people. I hope that consumers and crafters alike will ignore this attempt to wipe out the little guy under the guise of safety. You may think I am paranoid, or just plain wrong - but either way - if you are making stuff for kids... it still sucks for you. Can we post links on here? I'll go check the rules and if we can I have a link.
