CPSIA and Craft Shows

I'm working on organizing a craft show for March. Does anyone know what I should do about businesses wanting to sell that make kids items?

I think no one knows for sure what the implications will be! What a mess of a law.

I would imagine that as a venue you would not be held liable for products being sold by your vendors (otherwise ETSY would be a little bit more active in the CPSIA question than it is). But, if you're worried, talk to a lawyer, not forum members, who are not qualified to give legal advice.

There isn't any way to know what will be happening in March until the amending sections are completed. Makes for rough planning doesn't it. :(

sigh...it does. some of the vendors are coming from a post i made on craigslist so i'm emailing them back making sure they know about the law and giving them some links just in case. im also telling them that because of the law im not sure what will happen but they are welcome to apply.

do you know what the amending will be complete?

Hopefully before Feb 10 when it's enacted, but that's not saying it will be.

I'm in the same boat because I do a local artisans market from May - October every weekend and now I"m not sure if I'll be able to. It's quite a bit of income for me during those months, so it's a bit stressful for all!
