CPSIA: The Guidelines - Please Read Them

As business owners, we all have the responsibility to know the CPSIA law and to judge how it affects the products we, as individuals, make and sell. And then take measures to correct our products.

By going to the CPSC website, opening the Guidelines, everything we need to know is pretty much explained.

I used CONTROL and click on this link to open it. Not sure if you will need to.

If you click the various parts, you can get answers. If we don't take the time to read it, know what is in it, and then write letters to Congress, the media, etc., the letters will appear to contain false information and will be ignored.

I am still seeing questions, statements in threads that are not true. If sellers will only read through this Guideline, we will become a much more informed group. An informed group will have a better chance of getting changes to this law passed.

While we are working on getting some good changes made to this law, if you haven't read this, it is worth reading. And then, knowing where you stand, to continue to sell your items.

lol. I'm getting web errors at the moment.

My issue with this thing is that I signed up for email updates and they send out 20+ page documents with proposals and updates ALMOST DAILY.
I ended up dropping completely away from the kids-market if for no other reason other than to reclaim some time to do things BESIDES reading and attempting to decipher into "what does this mean for me" all of their constant changes.

Vexilla: the cps website is throwing those errors for ALL their documents right now. Including the new updates they just sent to my inbox....again. cause you know....that daily update thing. ;) Must be their document server site is down.

I found a page that had the guidelines. I'm pretty sure that items made with fabric have been deemed safe and okay to sell.
