CPSIA - Flood CNN!?

Ok guys, every morning I watch CNN. They have such a HUGE focus on the economy right now, it's probably at least half of their broadcast at any given time.
Yet, I have never heard anything about CPSIA, which will have a huge impact if monitored, right?!
So while CNN is concerned about how Obama's new plan will really help, we have thousands of small businesses on the verge of going out of business because of this.
So I'm thinking, if we all send tips/story ideas to CNN about this, maybe they will cover it! If we can get information to the consumer, and if people realize they won't be able to go to the thrift store and buy their child a book and a dress, then we might see some action, right?!

Hopefully, if we all send in a tip or story idea about this, they will be so flooded with CPSIA info they might take notice.........I think it's worth a shot.
I didn't see any other thread about this, so if I missed it, then nevermind and rock on for having already done this.

I am going to do this to all the news stations I can.

I was just talking to my sister about CPSIA and she was telling me how even THRIFT STORES won't be able to carry kids clothing anymore. Baby thrift stores will go out of business, regular thrift stores will have to cut out an entire section of there store and EVERYONE will have to buy new clothes for their kids even low income struggling families. I am horrified by this. So many businesses will shut down, so many jobs lost, so many families will have to struggle EVEN MORE.

If this does pass we will have to revert to trades and giving things away for free.

Isn't there a way to write a letter to obama himself?! I mean, maybe that's overshooting it. But christ, we need to get SOMEONES attention! And he seems like a nice enough guy...

Yes, we really need to contact every single news outlet and make this more visible.
I don't make children's items, but I am a single mom of 2 boys, and I LIVED at thrift stores when I was newly single with them. I wouldn't have been able to live without it. I can't imagine what struggling families will do without the opportunity to shop at thrift stores. Not to mention all the families being provided for via independent businesses!

YES! Find a link to submit a tip or story and post it, let's do it!
And the cable news networks tend to really stay on stories and revisit them often, so if we could get this visible, I think it would really help!

Go to Obama's website - there is a feedback section there where you can contact his administration with questions, comments, and concerns. I've already written in - even though it has nothing to do with my work, I feel so badly for those who will be affected by this.

I wish I had saved a copy of what I wrote. I linked them to all the forum topics here about it, and talked about how the closure of small businesses en masse and the the closure and removing of childrens items from thrift stores will undermine any economic rescue package, which is what they've been covering for days on end lately.
If your business fails,a 500 tax credit won't really help, you know?
