Buttons & Zippers

I think I have successfully navigated the CPC, CPSIA and FTC waters but I am still a little lost when it comes to what I need for buttons and zippers.
Any help would be appreciated!
- If I use buttons on my childrens clothing what testing needs done and what certificates do I need!
- If I use zippers is there any testing besides the lead testing that needs done?
- Do I need an actual copy of the testing certificate or does a statement from the manufacturer stating it meets CPSIA requirements suffice?
- Can anyone recommend a supplier for buttons and zippers that are compliant and easy to obtain documentation from?

YKK Zippers are a good bet to get a certificate of compliance/testing results from. Lead content and lead in paint because the zipper stops are paint coated.

Buttons try Bluminthal Lansing. I think they make several lines and in the past if you could give them the brand and style number they may tell you if they are compliant.
