Thanks for this link. I read some of the comments and maybe this isn't the appropriate post for MY comment but I've been thinking about this for days, ever since I read an article that someone else posted in another thread. I think if was from consumer info or something like that. Anyway, something in that article struck me. The person being interviewed stated that the retailer has been "at the table" the whole time these discussions have been going on between the CSPIA, lawmakers etc. They have had input and therefore knew before the law was passed, that the law was going to be passed, and knew exaclty what was going to be asked of them in this law. They have had time to make sure they are in compliance with this law and therfore none of their products will have to be pulled from any shelves come Feb. 10th. In a lot of things I've read, people have been asking, "what will happen to all stores on Feb. 10. Will their shelves be empty?" The answer appears to be no. Only the small business who were left out of the loop during discussions will have to pull their products.
I sell kid's clothing to a local boutique and the owner called the other day asking what I was going to do on Feb. 10th? He stated that his other vendors, which are all big name clothing and stuffed animal makers are producing a certificate, was I prepared to do that as well?
Has anyone heard any news outlets speak to this?
