Branching out...

With the confirmation that children's books ARE included, I think we should branch out and notify as many different groups as possible to help fight this. Maybe... just MAYBE... they will delay the enforcement of this Act until things can be sorted out. I have heard rumors there are a number of "trained investigators" set to be sent out on or after 2/10. This is amusing to me in a way... exactly WHAT information did they train these inspectors with? The Act that no one (even legislators) can make heads or tails of?

Anyway, I spoke with a few local libraries in my town yesterday and they were completely unaware of the Act and the potential effect. This morning I found an article by the American Library Association regarding the matter. This article was written 1/9/09... before the release of the General Counsel Advisory Opinion on 1/13/09 ( http://www.cpsc.gov/library/foia/advisory/323.pdf ).

We should take the time to contact all of our local libraries and school districts to notify them of the ruling. Our kids will be learning via "banned hazardous substances" in just a few days.

Maybe getting as many different orginizations on board to have this Act amended will help get our voices heard. Strength in numbers, right?
