Ah...yet another thread regarding this awful topic. My market is mainly children, and I sale mostly art prints. I don't know what I'm going to do. Should I just close up shop?

not sure--will probably unlist all my childrens items and sell only artwork. not sure if i can sell my robots or not--they are not intended for kids but theres that fuzzy area of "if it appeals to a 12 year old or younger" that makes me confused.

Most of my products will be discontinued if there are no ammendments. I am discontinuing all products that the CPSC offical I spoke to deemed needing testing. Whether or not I can survive selling only one or two product lines remains to be seen. I am not sure yet.

Most of my items are for 12 and under, but the chenille quilts can be lap quilts for adults, so guess I'll have three items listed, if there is no revision.
Depressing topic (but I also don't have any sales yet...maybe I'll need a super clearance before 2/9?)

Things just started picking up for me, and now this (sigh). I'll probably put my shop on vacation while I rechannel my creativity. If OOAKs are exempt, then I'll focus on that.

i am waiting to see- if this goes the way it is now i will end up most likely closing my shop. I am sad because i have spent a year building it to only have some dumba$$ come along that has no idea what he is talking about. Sorry- i am sad that this is going to affect so many people and the people trying to pass this have no clue

If there are no changes to the current regulations I won't likely be out of business entirely, but will no longer be able to have anything even remotely child related in my shop. I'll likely have to change my banner and avatar too....since they won't "fit" my shop if I can't have anymore little bears and animals.

I've already started the transition. I gave away almost all of my bears and have some of the remaining kid's stuff offered at reduced prices. Whatever hasn't sold before 2/9/09 will just be saved to give away. I'm so disappointed about this whole business. Before I had known about this I had already started making plans and buying supplies to really expand my bears and toys line....now I'll have to find something else to use all the yarn for.

if you have the time, any of you that sell children's items please send me photos with your name, location and shop name or web address to frillerup@yahoo.com. I am meeting with my rep on wednesday and am bringing in photo albums of items that will be lost. I am also mailing a few to key figures in congress, martha and oprah. i am hoping to send 1 a week until this law is amended.

It seesm the CPSA has relented a bit about the individual crafter. I have no plans to stop as of now.

Well....if the law isn't amended, I will have to unlist all of my children's items (which is my entire shop). I am currently developing many patterns for my original designs, so, I may have have to focus on selling my patters until lawmakers come to their senses.
