Can you still sell the items to customers outside the US?

I don't specialize in children's items so I haven't paid too much attention.

This has made me want to look into it more.

acrudele - the answer is no.

and people that sell from other countries and ship to the US, risk their item will be destroyed upon entry.

Fantastic thread and comments! What a way to make a point. I've already convoyed my thoughts to mom2twogirls, but had to tell the rest of you how clever you are, and I hope people are beginning to understand how this affects not only the creators and sellers of children's items, but the parents, grandparents, aunts&uncles, etc. who want to BUY for children.

And, to aebaby, your $17,240 travel bag/toy is adorable, but you cracked me up with the line "By the way, shipping is complimentary"!

Hang in there everyone and let's hope this ridiculous law gets amended so that our children are protected from unsafe toys without destroying a whole handmade toy/children's articles industry. That's what I'm trying to do. To say I could no longer create, with a great deal of love and care, a crocheted plush teddy bear or baby doll for a child would deeply sadden me.

My daughter works for a political action company.
I have sent her the links from articles appearing on etsy.
She has asked her boss to contact admin regarding sponsoring a campaign to help fight the law.

In the meantime, I love the tutu listing and I saw one earlier in the day for a baby pod with the same sort of pricing :>

Sticker shock is a terrible jolt isn't it?! The thing is the big manufacturers will subtley pass these cost onto the consumers as well. Granted the price won't seem near as radical BUT...it's going to happen! These listings are helping people to see WHY so many feel the pressure to close up shop, there is NO way we can afford the testing and no way the consumers will pay our costs:) Then again if someone sells their listing wouldn't that be GREAT for publicity of the law:)
