"Ratatosk" is the second in my new series I call "triptych tiles" wherein I attempt to capture an entire myth in three, 4-inch tiles. This particular piece features three denizens of the World Tree, Yggdrasil - the Eagle (perched in the canopy above), Nidhoggr (the dragon who gnaws at the roots below), and Ratatosk (the trickster squirrel who delights in scurrying up and down the trick of the tree, spreading gossip and insults between eagle and dragon, ensuring that they are forever at odds. Limited to 50 signed/numbered castings in each of three finishes (copper, brass and stone) and mounted in a high quality solid wood, black, beaded frame.
