Back from the Chiro and boy, do I feel better! My neck was way out of wack and that makes my jaw be out, too.

Stopped at the grocery store and got ice cream for b-day boy tonight.

I just finished the vacuuming.

Jan, are you going with a metal roof? That's what I want to do when we have to replace ours and it's 18 years old. Not soon but in the future.

Jan and Julie, why a metal roof? Don't they get colder faster, and hotter faster depending on where you live? Or are you talking about metal framing of the roof , rather than wood. Confused in Ohio??

Yes, metal roof. Very popular here too, Julie. It's six of one, half a dozen on the other, I guess, concerning the heat. I think any dark roof absorbs more no matter the material? Shop and outbuilding roofs are metal and that is what DH said he would reroof with when the time came. It seems more durable to me but I know NAWting.......well........maybe a little!

It's Pilates day! I'm doing better and more graceful (?!) except for those abs. I cannot do situps. I need to try harder.

Klaire, The hosting plan I started with is limited to 6 pages. Home and 5 pages of rings is all that will load right now. I want to see if there is much traffic from there before I decide to up the hosting cost. When I do, I will add some of the other goodies and a way to buy directly from the site.
Not much sense in spending money adding all the older wooden items, I pretty much stopped making anything from the old lines. Making rings and trying to expand into other jewelry items is taking up all the available time.

Tim, I'm thinking about ordering some of you wood utensils for Christmas gifts to my DD and DIL. I guess I should get them if you're not making any more. ;-)
Who is hosting your site? Did they design it or did you use ready made templates?

I'm using "I Power Web"to host the site, I've been with them for years.
I put together the site myself, using Weebly. They have a bunch of templates to start you out, but a ton of ways to customize each page. It's all drag and drop, so no special skills needed.
I went through I Power, but anybody can build a website with Weebly for free. You do need to have a domain name, that costs some, but you can put together a 5 page, basic site for free. Then pay more per month to add more features.

I really don't know if there will be any payback for me, using my own site, so I stayed with as low cost as I could. Just keeping my options open.

Jan, What I have listed is what I have left, some are getting low on inventory. It does not look like I'll be making anymore before Christmas. After that, it all depends on the jewelry sales and if I have access to some cheap labor (aka son/grandson)

Good Sunday morning!

I unloaded the kiln yesterday and got mostly good stuff. One commission is perfect and the other one not so much. It's only a small saucer that I've been trying to get the right color and size for the customer and not having much success. Most of the other things will stay in the studio for open house.

It's a bright, coolish morning but supposed to a lot warmer this afternoon. Not shorts warm but t-shirt warm.

Heading back to the studio this morning.

Hello, Monday morning!

The service for my son went very nicely. Many folks showed up to offer condolences--:-) Thank you my team mates for your warm thoughts and prayers.

Cold this AM, freezing actually, but this afternoon we're headed to the 70's---no complaints about that!

Klaire, That's going to be the $64,000 question. The site has only been up for 5 days. There have been 20 some visits, but I pretty certain most, if not all, are from posts like this where I'm asking fellow sellers to check it out and give me some feedback. I plan on posting more on FB, twitter and Pinterest. Time will tell if the effort will pay off. I'm still tweaking things on the site. Adding features that have been recommended and that I can with the limited tools available on my low budget site.

My pending order, from one customer, for 5 rings, has been upped to 6 rings!
All I'm waiting on is payment.....nervously. I don't want to count the chickens before they are safely tucked away. Fingers crossed!

It's supposed to go the the upper 70's today, possibly hit 80! Pretty rare in my neck of the woods, this time of year.

Whole -E Krap! I just received payment for the 6 ring order!
Whew, I can breathe again. I was somewhat skeptical the order was on the up and up. I've been working on getting the order for over a week. The customer agreed to purchase the group last Friday, but claimed there was some issue with her credit card. Plus she is in Belgium and some of our correspondence had a few language issues, not to mention the time difference led to some delays in responses.
My biggest ring order so far!!! Turned a so-so month into something special.

I've got a whole bunch of magic sales dust to share.

I took one last small commission yesterday and then turned down one for a canister set. I'm not taking anymore till after Christmas. No way to get them done in time for Christmas and still have my sanity.

Both my DH and I got our flu shots so hopefully no serious illness this winter. I don't have time to be sick!

Grand daughter is getting her PhD in animal biology. OSU would have taken her 4-5 years to get the PhD. In Tasmania it's a non-stop 3 year program!

I'm at this very moment seeing the tree trimmer up in the bucket outside the office window cutting branches to make the old Mulberry pretty and healthy again. Also having a few trees cut down so...............skipped Pilates today. It seemed like I should stay here.

A little while ago I gave in and flipped the heat back on. It will probably have to stay on this time. Must be done with summer by now!
