Jan, last time we were together, was 1997--I have a picture of me with my 4 children(adult). But , it seems like yesterday.
Now, I think you may be right about the lawn mowing--by Sat going down to the 50's , for a long stretch.

Jan - thinking of you and hope you are doing well.

Every now and then I search out Weimaraners at rescues and enjoy reading about them. Unfortunately I found a gorgeous Chocolate Lab/Weim mix at a high kill shelter a few hours south of San Francisco. I watched his video and he is very much like Cody! Of course I had to see if I could find him a home. His name is Kelly.

I have contacted so many rescues, friends, family, friends of friends, it isn't even funny. The rescues are overflowing. There is hope though. I may have to transport him to Napa. I started on this quest and I need to finish it.

In my corner of the world, just waiting for my son's remains to come back to the USA. May be another week or so.

We are in for some storms today. Probably later this morning.

I got the grass cut yesterday. That won't be the last time but it's not as thick and "juicy" as in the middle of summer.

I've got to get my kiln loaded again for the next bisque load and next round of commissions. Gah! I can't keep up!

A good amount of rain and wind here the past few days. Yesterday very windy and the sky showed plenty of blue again. Much cooler tho. 39 at the moment.

Yesterday, after Pilates, I ate at the Senior Center for the first time, (What am I doing with all those old people?!) ;-) I'd heard the food was good, and it truly was excellent. A group from a nearby town was there singing in German and the food was German. So it was pleasant and entertaining with good food and good company. We are fortunate to have a brand new, very nice community facility. It's very popular here with so many retirees living in semi-isolation. There's a lot going on there.

I put a large rag rug on the patio before the big rain. Today I must somehow get some water out of it and get it up onto something so it can dry. It sure beat hauling it down to a pay laundromat. It's too big for my washer.

Did a lot of deep cleaning yesterday---felt good.

Good Saturday morning!

We did have rain yesterday but no storms which was good. And this morning is bright, fresh and chilly! My DH is so happy. He loves the fall.

Jan, that sounds like a good place to go. How is pilates going? 6 pack abs yet?

I'm heading to the studio this morning. I've started the annual cleaning, getting the shelves dusted off and rearranged. I try to do a little every day to get ready for open house in Dec. The rug is in pretty good shape since I cleaned it last year.

How's that LOTR? He must be busy.

GAAAH! I was supposed to be going to a car show today, about an hour and a half NW of me, but still in Illinois. 35 degrees, 17 mph winds and it's SNOWING up there right now. No way, no how. Stupid winter. I'm not ready for that. Last weekend I was in SW Michigan in shorts and a tee, sweating. Sheesh!

I've finally got a few bracelets ready to list, still have to figure out the right way to list the sizes. I can work on that today, 'cause I ain't going out. I did just list one new ring this morning. I used Blue Opal for the inlay. I love it, too bad the play of color and light does not show up too well in the photos, it really is quite stunning in person.

Tim - that ring is fabulous! I tweeted and pinned. I am an opal pearl kinda girl. Prefer them over diamonds.

Well DeForest Kelly, the chocolate lab/weimaraner mix has been adopted to a good home. No rescue, a forever home! This was very personal as he reminded me very much of Cody. No more rescues. Just this one.

I think fall is really here to stay! Next weekend we'll be traveling up to my old stomping grounds to view the fall leaves.

Good Monday morning!

We had a light frost Saturday morning. That's early for us! I hope that isn't a bad omen for how this winter will be. It's beautiful now, though. Warming up this week.

The cleaning continues in the shop. I did get my next bisque load fired and it is cooling now. I'll be glazing tomorrow.

Annie, I know that pup pulled at your heart strings.

Tim, gorgeous ring! Bracelet sizes? Diameter, maybe? Or just call them bangle bracelets? That says loose to me.

I'm heading to the PO with a few sales from this weekend. And then the drug store and grocery store. The usual rounds.

I did a glaze marathon this morning and got it all in the kiln to fire tomorrow. 3 commissions in this load.

Klaire, hope the acupuncture works well for you. That reminds me that I really need to go the chiropractor. Maybe I can get that in this week. That sounds like a big frame. We'll be waiting to see the beauty you put in it.

It was supposed to rain overnight but it mostly fizzled out. It's warm today and just grey right now. Maybe a shower later. We could use the rain.

Today I am taking the painting in to have a professional frame it!!
I've been fooling with it for a couple of years now, trying to see what makes the painting hang not flush to the wall.
Maybe a more sturdy frame will be the ticket!!

Good Saturday morning! Up way too early again.

My glaze kiln was unloaded and reloaded for another firing today. The 2 commission canister sets came out great. One has already been paid for. The 3 tube utensil holder was good too but the customer didn't realize there would be an unglazed foot of white clay so now wants me to paint it. So I'm trying to match paint to glaze and hope it looks OK. They have dark granite counters and don't want that white to show. If I had know that I would have told them but oh, well. (heavy sigh)

I am having that 40x45inch silk painting re-framed professionally.
I tried to frame it myself 3 years ago, and it always hung with one corner not flush to the wall--bugged me. So now this coming Thursday I'll pick it up. Crossing my fingers!!

It's a dreary day here today. We've several rounds of cloud bursts. and it's chilly.

Both my commissions have paid, YAY!! Those will be shipped out UPS.

I'm a little stiff and sore this morning. Worked over the weekend cleaning windows and putting in the big old fashioned storm windows, putting the patio furniture in storage and clearing out some of the flower beds. Winter is coming. :-(

Ordered new shipping boxes and labels, taking photos and figuring out copy to list the bracelets. There sure is a lot of work involved getting a new product out in the world.

Only 72 days till Christmas!! Yikes! Gotta get things redy!

I'm headed to UPS this afternoon with my canister orders. They are supposed to open today. We'll see.
