Klaire, take that dip in the pool. It's actually supposed to be a little cooler today.

DH is home from MO. He rolled in about 1 pm yesterday. The dogs were so happy to see him.

Studio work yesterday and finishing today. 3 big canisters with lids.

I'm off to the PO, grocery store and hardware store. I need more wasp and hornet spray. We have a nest of yellow jackets in the ground along one of our walking trails. You don't want to mess with yellow jackets!

I need some guidance...........I am trying to get involved again in my teams..........lost so much time with my Mom being sick and passing and now my Dad did the same this year..........

Hey Karen, I recognize you from the AF forums. Jump in here, but I don't have any sage advise to give you. We're more of a social group here, but willing to help where we can.
Made some progress on the bracelets yesterday, but now I sold 3 more rings, so back to work for me!
Heat we had for the last few days has moved east, but the storms are still in the forecast for most of the week. Only 4 months till Christmas and we will be wishing for some of the heat.

Going to be near 90 today, but then a quick cool down with rain--

Julie, glad DH is now home and can look at the kiln again. Dobermans, neat dogs, never fear when they are near!!

Karen, as has been stated above, you just jump right in here. I'll swear that we are the friendliest group around.

Today i am doing some needed clean up after the scarf designing in that all the tiny bottles of dyed' resist 'need cleaning out, and the use of scalding water which have caused my fingers to pucker and become medium well done--:-)

Klaire, your weather is hotter than here! We're only about 85 today and lower humidity. Which for us is a taste of fall. The trip was great fun. We did a bit of sight seeing and went to the top of Pikes Peak. I gave my grand daughter a stick horse(you remember those) and she knew just how to "ride" it. She's only 2 and half but galloped around their apartment saying giddy up, giddy up. I swear it must be genetic. ;-)

Tim, you'll figure out the bracelets. I know they will be beautiful.

Well, I am not making sense. I keep typing and deleting. And I've had coffee this morning. I guess I should just say have a good one and wave...

Julie, yes I recall those horses head on a stick. My mom (due to lack of funds) let us ride the broom around. But, then i always wanted to be a witch--:-)

Excuse me if I am not in a great mood this morn, and I vent and verb a bit.
I began the process of gathering my steaming stuff. Got the steamer set up. Placed my coil of scarves inside, and looked around for the cloth coverings to put over the steamer to hold the steam in--they were all GONE!

I ran downstairs thinking the boss( my son) must have put them in my cupboard, but no, nothing!
I went to the other side of the basement where my dtr-in-law keeps throw rugs, old blankets. I grabbed some old clean thick towels. Ran back upstairs, to the garage, where i steam.Placed those over the top and tucked around an open part of the steamer with a towel I tore apart to fit this area.
Boy, I was fused!!
Guess when i'm done, and the towels have dried, I'll stick them downstairs in my cupboard!!

Just checked the steamer, and it appears the target time for completion is 1PM

Klaire, I logged many hours on the broom as well. I wanted to be a cowboy when I was growing up! I'm glad you got the steamer working. Maybe the cloth got put somewhere safe. That's what I always say when I can't find something. It's somewhere safe(from everything). Take a deep breath.

I just sent boxes to the Greensboro gallery. She came and picked up work this time. Magnolias, bowls, soap pumps and cruets, and other stuff. My shop/studio looks empty now. I guess I better get busy making more stuff.

Hi everyone! Yes Tim it is I from AF..............I'm still there too!


now how do I get back involved with the web site and get my items up there and noticed..........I will spending many hours this weekend working on my shops adding much much more!

But first I have to build a bench from a bed frame and paint my sister bedroom.............then I have about 72 hours left............hmmmmm where to start.

Good morning!

I'll be test firing the kiln tomorrow. DH replaced the elements yesterday but I didn't get over there to set it for today. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I just came in from a nice walk to the river but we still yellow jackets along the trail. My spraying them didn't get kill them. I'll try to go back late this afternoon and spray them again.

Yes, I'm very fortunate to have that gallery. She is a delightful lady and really supports all her artists. That area is around a big lake community with lots of money. People appreciate art and are willing to spend money. YAY!

Having some tough days. Just have to get through. Sorry, guys, just sayin'...

This morning I went out early and ran the trimmer. When it ran out of gas I was out of steam anyway. It's so humid. But at least I got the front done and that makes me feel better.

Our electric co-op has strung fiber optic wire for internet, phone and tv. Amazing. I'm signing up. Price is not bad either.

Hi Karen. I'm on AF but I do nothing there so suppose I can't complain that I do nothing there! ;-)

Jan.............not much selling on AF at all right now.........my sales there have tanked and I am not sure why...........

but concentrating on my stand alone site for supplies (KG Krafts) and my Kraftylady and Wee Tiny Totters shops here..........KG Krafts is here too but I can't afford to put 15000 items into it! LOLOL

Julie hoping that kiln begins working great for you! You have to tag those hornet nests, Go back at night , and spray them right in their hole!
I used to pour gas down the holes and throw a match--but as they say on TV, " don't try this at home" Nasty buggers!!

Yes, it's Labor Day weekend. No PO on Monday. It's too hot here to do much outside. I'm making BBQ in the crock pot today.

The test fire went well. I'll load my greenware today and fire it tomorrow.

Hi Folks, I am having a quiet Labor Day weekend at home.

Working on getting some new things made.

Julie - sounds like your kiln is working OK again? It's great that you have a Gallery that wants your work like that!

Klaire - don't we all have trouble sometimes when we are working to get things made! Sometimes I can;t find the right color of thread - once when I needed to take pictures, I was frantically trying to find the batteries that I was sure I had charged up for my camera????

Karen - what is your studio on Artfire? I'm on Artfire, too -- and have just been re-building my etsy shop. If you are looking for a good Guild on Artfire - try looking at the "Checked In Today Guild" - they are pretty good. I do things with them all the time.

It was in the 80's for a while here, but got up in the 90's again - and even up to 100 or 101 supposedly. But I live in a CA "High Desert" - so what would you expect. The only good thing is that it usually always cools down at night - to the 70's or 60's.

Got a busy week ahead -- and working on making all kinds of new things,, as usual.

Bisque firing went fine so today I'll be glazing. The glaze firing will be the final test. I probably won't do that until later in the week.

Feels more like a Monday--:-)

Julie, Fair was fine. except didn't see any familiar faces--:-(
My X won 3rd place in fudge making contest--:-) Gee, i didn't know he was so domesticated.

Still working on the photo taking aspect of the scarves. Didn't like the way the last set of photos looked. Will try again.

Remains humid here with storms later. I really think , even though the weather remains warm, it's time to close the pool. Too many leaves to clean out each day!
