We're in the 90's today!

How many times would you all say Etsy has changed your shop pages, then changed them back again, then changed them back the other way?
It's been about 4 times for me. I continue to offer my feedback, then they change again.
I'm not fond of change,unless it's an extremely wonderful change.

I have not been in any of the store front tests except the header test. Which I'm still in and have gotten used to. But I've been in the forums enough to know that people are just plain PO'd about all the testing.

We're cloudy and humid today with rain expected later this week. That's good. We need it.

I found fresh peaches yesterday. Yay!

Yes, I'm thinking about Jan, too.

I went to 2 post offices and UPS yesterday. My Christmas in July sale ended Sunday. I still have that section up with some permanently reduced prices. It will just become my sale section when July is over. I had some sales of stuff that have been in the shop for a long time so I guess it was successful. Not quite as good as last year.

This is my hard day out there. The kids have helped a lot. They did the whole yard yesterday - not a small task - mowing, weed eating, raking, besides helping with all that must be done. Tomorrow everyone goes home.

Tomorrow I go to dentist, I suppose that will be good. I'm going to be met for lunch and life will begin again.

Good morning! A cool, breezy morning here. A nice change from the hotnhumid day we had yesterday.

A tad stiff and sore today. Saturday we took down 6 hickory trees at my friend's house, cut up, loaded a borrowed dump truck and stacked the wood along the back side of the garage. Took Sunday off as a day of rest but then spent 2 mornings scraping and re painting my back porch. Thank god for my son and the grandson! Another job checked off the list.

I past the 900 sale mark yesterday! I also bought my first FaceBook ad. We'll see..... I used this treasury:

Jan, I hope you are doing OK. It's good you had help. Is there family close to you or all from out of town?

I've got kiln woes. I think I've got either bad relays or thermocouples or both. I'm waiting now for replacements. DH is a whiz at fixing things so when I have the parts he will take care of it. And I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that was the problem. Meh! Not what I needed right now. :-( At least I don't have a bunch of commissions waiting.

H&H today and grass cutting is in the plan for later today.

Bummer about the kiln too Julie. Good thing DH is Mr. Fix-it!

Jan - I think the hardest part is when everyone leaves at least it was for me and a couple of friends. Obviously we are here for you if you need us.

I attended a meeting for the pop-up gallery and they are letting me participate! LOL! They were not stuck up or anything. They were very open. I also changed a few things too. I took their constructive criticism and made it very positive. I have wanted to do more artistic items but I always said there wasn't enough time. I just need to do it. Here's a picture I took late at night so it is rather grainy but this is what I am talking about. It is called quilt as you go.

The FB ad was a bust. $5 spent to get one whole shop visit. Whoopee!

To be honest using a treasury was probably a bad idea. If I get the urge to try a FB ad again I'll feature just my own product. I don't know why I tried it anyway, I've got plenty of sales coming in without it.

I'm still organizing the new work space, but it's coming together. The biggest issue is that it's 13 steps down and 13 steps up. My old knees are complaining!
The main STUDIO is only 5 steps and 40 feet of flat away. Much better.

Annie, it's good to stretch your wings every so often and try new things. Which reminds me, I have to spend more time working out the kinks in the bracelets I want to add to the line.

Good evening(said in a scary voice) :-)

Teeth cleaning appt today and I got fitted for a bite guard to help with my clinched teeth at night when I'm sleeping. Oh joy!

Klaire, I'd have to say I've had more trouble with this kiln than I ever did with my old manual kiln with kiln sitter. That's a little mechanical bar that drops when the kiln gets to the right temp. This new one(well, it's not really new it's 10 years old) is all computer controlled with sensors and they seem to go bad pretty regularly. I may try to find me an old kiln sitter kiln as a back up on Craig's list. That way I'd wouldn't be down totally while waiting for parts.

And I know that lemon pie was delish! 94, wow!

Tim, I've done FB ads before and didn't really see a lot of return on money spent. I got a few new likes and some direct traffic from FB but I think unless you spend big money you don't get much bang for your buck. I think I did a 10.00 campaign and according to their stats it reached over 2000 people. I just hope that some of those people will actually visit my shop.

Jan - so sorry to hear about your troubles - but moving on a living life is the best - so keep goin'. I always like being creative !

Tim - sounds like you are really busy with all that work on the new studio space and cutting down trees! Glad to hear that you have help!! If your friend had you help with cutting down 6 Hickory trees - how many does your friend have. I remember Hickory trees from when I lived in Illinois - beautiful trees and many are not small!!

Klaire - sounds like a good time at the wedding - and congrats on becoming a great-grandmother (again?) soon!

Julie - sounds like you are a real pro with a kiln - but, of course, your pieces are always beautiful! Hope all your kiln problems get sorted out.

I'm trying to get some new things made - things are starting to go better now - I was in a slump for a while as it seemed really hard to get new things actually made - but I did have those custom orders. Well, I am beginning to feel better now.

Still working on some sweaters for myself, too! I love doing the Handmade!

Looks like I'll be in here more again. I always liked doing Treasuries with our Team's decor, etc. -- so maybe in a week or two I'll get to one!

Friends, with the weather we are having today and next week, (high will be 70's) you'd think fall had arrived!

Kids arrived back from honeymoon. Now, I think the bride and groom go their separate ways. No, not a permanent split, but she has to go back to her internship in Michigan, and DH has to go back to his dental practice in Columbus Ohio. This will go on for 3 more years, till my GD gets her MD.


I'm still trying to get my muse back Ruth. Pretty Doily!!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend - getting some crocheting done, which I am glad about!

Klaire - hope "whatever" returns - you do such beautiful painting, whether it is for Scarves (you know they could be used for Decor as "Dresser Scarves" as well as "Fashion Scarves", LOL) or Wall Art pieces or Pillows, etc.!! But I know personal things in life have a way of affecting getting things made!
