Re: Introduce yourself.

I'm Lauren and I'm not new to Etsy but I am rather new to selling on here. I have a degree in art history and love to read, which explains why I sell what I do! I make leather jewelry that I hand print on; usually quotes or famous pieces of art. I figured it's a way I wouldn't have to get tattoos of the things I love :) ! My favorite period of history is medieval times through the Tudor era and I am a complete Anglophile and hope to move to the UK some day.

Re: Introduce yourself.

Hi Everyone,
Right now I am not making anything, but I do have the desire to do some blank note cards with beautiful fashions of the Victorian and Edwardian periods. I have collected a lot in the last few years, and just love adding to my collection of fashion prints of yesterday.

I am a huge fan of Downton Abbey, go figure right? I love the name of this group because it is soooo me.

Re: Introduce yourself.

Hi everyone,

I'm Anastasia and I've just opened my shop this week. I've been a lurker on Etsy for a while, but now I've decided to get involved.

I adore Georgian and Regency periods and everything 18th century. I've reread every single Jane Austen novel more times than is good for any person alive. I enjoy fashion and social history, historical films, beading and theater.

Re: Introduce yourself.

Hello all,

I am Marie and I've been on Etsy for a short while. My main offering is surname coats of arms but I've added a few other sundry and related items. Other than the custom designs I create, my paintings are all completed according to historical documentation. I enjoy the historical research nearly as much as I do the painting. Love to speak with you any time!

Re: Introduce yourself.

Hello Everyone,

I have been working on improving my etsy shop over the past year and concentrating on the rag rugs I make from new fabrics. I live on a farm in western Ohio and spend my days creating things to sell as well as caring for the animals and my family. I started making rag rugs and have had good interest in them at craft fairs. I am looking for other outlets to sell them, so send any ideas my way!

Thank you,
Donna

Re: Introduce yourself.

Hi: I am Lisa Kay and I opened my Etsy store in September 2012 Born To Shop Vintage. I sell vintage clothing and accessories from the 1940s to the 1980s. I just like pretty things. When I look at vintage clothing, my imagination takes me to that time period and I have to wonder about the person who owned the item. Every garment has a story.
I am avid reader, with a passion for history.
I am a retired broadcast television advertising executive. My love for vintage clothing and accessories was hidden under the classic business suit or dress for years. Fell in love with vintage in 1970 when I was 16 years old.

Re: Introduce yourself.

Hi, I’m Pam from TruthinHeritage. We just opened our shop in Etsy . A few years ago we discovered that we all shared the same passion for true American History. Unfortunately we discovered in our research that a big chunk of our history is not being taught in the schools any more. Our purpose is to try to change that by developing a line of historical character dolls, puppets, marionettes and other educational aids. We plan on stressing positive role models in history. Hopefully, we can reawaken an interest in the past.

Being new to Etsy, I have a lot of questions with selling on line. I have a lot to learn so I guess I better settle down and start reading some of the threads here and on other boards.

God Bless

Re: Introduce yourself.

Hello my name is Julia and I have had a vintage shop on Etsy for about 3 years. A friend and I recently bought a huge collection of vintage clothing so my shop has taken a turn from books and tea cups to Edwardian dresses and shoes. We are having a lovely time researching all the pieces and slowly adding them to the shop.

Re: Introduce yourself.

Hello!

I'm Lisa and I am passionate about family history and genealogy.

At Esther's Place I use family photos (digital copies, of course!) to create photo jewelry and other gift items. I found in my own family, each time I made an item using one of my ancestors' photos, stories from the past were shared. My customers share similar stories as well. I also offer genealogy research services in my store.

Stop and take a look.

Re: Introduce yourself.

Hi, I'm Elie, and I have been fascinated by medieval history and aesthetics ever since I was old enough to snatch books with knights on the cover off the shelf. I've also always enjoyed making things with my hands. Etsy creative and quirky community seemed exactly the right place to go. My shop is all about heraldry and the history of the Middle Ages, so if that sounds like something you dig, let's talk!

Re: Introduce yourself.

Hi.

I'm Kate at Wonderful Life Farm. Having always felt like I was born in the wrong time, I've been drawn to history all my life. I live in rural New Hampshire surrounded by the old rock walls, tree-lined dirt roads, early-American architecture, and all the natural beauty that is New England. Although I enjoy gardening, cooking, photography, and almost any sort of dying domestic art, my passion is sewing. I enjoy making period clothing that helps to bring history to life for children!

I'm looking forward to being part of the team!

Hi everyone!

I was so happy to see this group! I am an architect/historian/graphic designer who created an Etsy store to share my love of historic art and architecture with like-minded people and the world! I have only been a seller on Etsy for a few months, but am a long-time viewer and purchaser. I love seeing all of your history-inspired things, and I hope you enjoy mine too! Here's an example of what I do:

Re: Introduce yourself.

Hello!
My name is Summer, from New Jersey. I have degrees in History, but ended up here on etsy crafting. :D The time periods that inspire me most are Viking and Anglo-Saxon times, basically Pre-Christian Northern Europe as well as Tudor England. But I do love ALL history. :) This is such a neat group, nice to see others inspired by history as well, and the results of that inspiration. :) Cheers!

Hi! I'm Nick, a blacksmith in Upper Michigan and also a professional historian. I do a lot of reproduction work, and many of the things that I make that aren't historical reproductions are strongly inspired by historical pieces. My area of expertise is medieval metalwork, but I'm also interested in all kinds of pre-modern ironwork.

Hi,
I am Andrea from Hamburg, Germany. I have an etsy store and my own webshop for quite some time now.
What I make is historical dresses in varying degrees of accuracy, depending on what the costumer wants. My personal main interest is georgian times / french rokoko and the second half of the 19th century. But I do medieval or rather medieval called fantasy as well.
I studied history for quite some time but I quit cause a girl has to work.
