Giving up my day job.....

Hi all, my ultimate dream is giving up my boring job and making a living from my Etsy shop.
Just wondered if any of you had done this or were working towards doing this and if you had any tips or pointers that i might find useful.

..For many years i was a freelance artist, living on the edge not sure of where or how the next bill would get paid...i was younger than and could handle the strain... What i have done did in the last years was work a creative part time a job that is nourishing 3 days a week . I use my home for private teaching one day week...Now one must always give up something in order to get something
in return...i am frugal, i do not deny myself, but i do not spend on things that are not necessary...we have so many expenses in this modern techno world
i pick and choose which i really need...i would rather more time in my studio than the latest "i phone, pad" or latest new electronic gadget...So i hope i have been of some help. i have 3 sites that sell my work...i think you need more than one...kanjidoll

Thanks kanjidoll, I do have another website but sales are very slow, just can't seem to get going :-(

Hi there,

I say keep your day job as long as you can to save enough money to hold you over until you get consistent sales. a.k.a. use your job to fund your dream.
