Listing Critique!

Go to solution

Hi India sellers!

I’m excited to share that on Tuesday, February 11th, Etsy India will work with it’s third party partner agency here to offer some “Listing Critique” tips for Indian sellers on the forum!

For those of you who have not participated in a “Listing Critique” before, here’s how it works:

  • Next week on 11/02 we will open this thread to comments at 10:00 am IST. From there, you will have until 10:00 pm IST to submit a link to a listing from your shop that you’d like advice on—you can only choose one, so choose wisely!
  • With guidance from Etsy Shop Optimization Specialists, Etsy will review your listing and share a personalized critique. The critiques will focus on things like keywords, photography, and other conversion tactics.
  • We will consider requests on a first come first serve basis. Please note that thoughtful critiques take time to construct, which means that we will not be able to get to every request during this session.

Here are the details:

If you’d like to participate,

  • Head to the team on February 11th at 10:00 AM IST to find the discussion - it will be called Listing Critique. It’ll be pinned at the top! We will only look at listings that are posted on 11th - so make sure you only post then.
  • Reply directly to this post. We will be open to take listing submissions from 10:00am to 10:00pm IST. Listing critiques will be shared on a rolling basis between 10:00am - 6:00pm IST on 13th and 14th February.

We’re so excited and we hope you are too! See you on Tuesday!

Hello Aashana! My name is Shweta and I work on the Community team here in India. Thank you for submitting this listing. I love the moroccan print on the hotplate  hotplate - so beautiful!

After careful review, my biggest piece of advice for you is to work on the listing’s keywords - keywords are very important in terms of visibility in searches, and updating yours may help to get your hotplate in front of more of the right buyers.

The first thing that jumps out to me is your listing title. I would recommend including 3-4  relevant phrases here that buyers might be searching for on Etsy. “Moroccan Hotplate” is a great start, and you could expand this to include the word “print” or mention that it is a ‘ceramic hotplate’, ‘ceramic tile platter’

Additionally, listing’s keywords also includes tags - It looks like you’re using tags for your listing (which is important!). It looks like as of now you’ve used 4 tags and you actually get up to 13! Make sure you use all available tags with diverse terms so that you get as many opportunities as possible to get your items in front of buyers in search. Try using tags like “geometric tray”, “abstract print tray”, “ceramic tiles tray”. I would also recommend adding more tags around gifting occasions - I think this would be a great housewarming gift!

I also think adding more photos to this listing could be helpful. Consider adding a few more to highlight the potential use, and packaging of this lovely product. For inspiration, check out this Seller Handbook article: https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/7-essential-types-of-product-photos/22504064051

Hello there! Thank you for sharing your listing! Your work is beautiful and looks so well photographed.

I see your item is categorized correctly and you’re using lots of attributes, which is great! That really helps your item get found by the right buyers.

One thing I notice is that your title could be more concise. You could shorten it by combining those into something like “Black and White Peacock Photo, Peacock Print, Peacock Decor, Peacock Poster, Peacock Gift.”

One other recommendation is to be more specific with tags. For example, I see you have a few tags like “kids valentine gift” “abdul kalam azad” “indian” and “forever art gift”. Since your item is a photograph, you could make your tags work for you more by including tag words like - wall art, natural life photo, peacock art print, bird print, peacock poster.

Hope this helps - thanks for participating!

Hi,

This is Sangeetha from Pink Lotus Crochetkari.

Here is my listing: https://www.etsy.com/in-en/listing/670039244/coral-crochet-shawl-peach-triangle-shawl

Hi Sangeetha! My name is Shweta and I work on the Community team here in India. Thank you for submitting this listing. I love the color of the shawl - it is really pretty!

I love the “About your shop” section since it really helps me understand your making process, and it reminds me that real humans are on the other side of this listing making it! In the spirit of improvement, here are just a couple tips to consider (although I must say that this listing is really strong to begin with)

Titles:  I think you’ve done a great job with your title and tags but I wonder if you might trim your title down a bit?  For example, you could shorten your title to ‘Coral Crochet Shawl, Peach Triangle Shawl, Plus Size Ladies Shawl’ and put the rest of the key phrases in the tags. I would also advise you to remove tags and titles like ‘XL shawl’.

Photos: I also think adding more photos to this listing could be helpful. Consider adding a few more to highlight the scale, potential use, and packaging of this lovely product. I’d love to see a photo of the crocheting process. Another great photo would be a lifestyle shot of someone wearing this! For inspiration, check out this Seller Handbook article: https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/7-essential-types-of-product-photos/22504064051

Description: I would recommend putting your description down in bullets, it might make for an easier read!

I hope these tips help -- again, your listing is in really great shape as it is, and we wish you tons of success with it!

This is my listing: https://www.etsy.com/in-en/listing/763845762/traditional-rose-gold-rose-shaped-panja?ref=shop_home_a...

Hello there!

Thanks for joining India’s first ever listing critique. My name is Shweta and I’d love to critique your listing!

First of all, I love your shop! You have such beautiful items. I’m excited to review your listing!

It looks like you’ve already optimized your listing with a number of our best practices, including having readable titles, offering free delivery, and having diverse photography that captures the item in many angles/scenarios. Here are a couple tips I recommend to optimize even further:

  • It looks like you’re using tags for your listing but they are a little brief. We find that using tags with multiple words or phrases that are as specific as possible work the best for matching your listing with the perfect buyer. Think of tags as keywords that buyers will input into the search bar on Etsy to find your items. You can try adding something like “Wedding jewellery” or “rose gold bracelet” or even “gold plated hand jewellery” instead of “priyanish creations” or “priyanish” since the buyers will not be looking for these phrases. If you need inspiration with coming up with more tags, use the Etsy search bar. As you type in a search, a dropdown list will appear with suggestions of the most searched phrases using the words you entered. If you see any that are relevant to your items, try adding them as tags.
  • For your titles, I would recommend more generic terms like hand jewelry instead of regional phrases. Your stats will indicate what search terms are bringing buyers to this listing - so you can experiment with those.
  • It’s also important to use all available photo slots for the listing (right now you have 7 and you actually get up to 10). Because shoppers can’t pick up or try on your item before purchasing, more photos can give them a better understanding of what the item will be like when they receive it. If you need more ideas on what other types of photos to take, consider a photo that shows off how nicely you your items are packaged or made (shoppers love a process shot!). I’d also love to see a photo of someone wearing this for an occasion - so that buyers can understand how this accessory complements an outfit.

For inspiration, check out this Seller Handbook article: https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/7-essential-types-of-product-photos/22504064051

I hope these tips were helpful!

Thank you!

Hi, Shub! So good to see you here participating in Etsy India's first ever Listing Critique!

Thank you for sharing this listing - this illustration would make a wonderful gift for a person who loves travelling!

  • Photos: I think the range of photography looks great but I can imagine a potential buyer enjoying seeing a behind the scenes photo of how they are made. I would consider adding a process shot to your photos - show the buyer what it looks like while you’re in the process of crafting your items. Packaging photos are also essential for products that are usually gift items! I would also recommend you add a lifestyle shot of this illustration by adding a picture of a framed map on a living room wall versus one on a desk!
  • Title: When crafting your titles it’s important to think about how your buyers are searching for your items. Think of descriptive words like colors, patterns, and materials. For example, Watercolour Map of Italy, Handpainted Map, Customized Illustration Map.

Thank you for being an active part of the community!

I hope this helps! Thank you!

Hi Shirali! Good to see you here in the forums participating in the Etsy India’s first ever Listing Critique! Thank you for submitting this listing. I love this food magnet - so artsy and unique!

After careful review, my biggest piece of advice for you is to work on the listing’s title. For example, your listing title is currently Vazha Ellai Sapadu Magnet, Tamil Meal Magnet, Indian Food Magnet, South Indian Food Miniature, Banana Leaf Meal Miniature Fridge Magnet. I think you’ve done a great job with your title and tags but I wonder if you might trim your title down a bit? Perhaps something like South Indian Food clay miniature, banana leaf meal fridge magnet, gifts for foodies. Shorter, more concise titles are easier to read. An easy to read title may be more pleasing to potential buyers and could thus improve your conversion rate (clicks to sales).  I searched for the regional term you’ve used in your title and couldn’t see too many people searching for it - perhaps you could replace it with a more generic one! Remember, anything else that’s relevant can go in your listing tags.

And if you need inspiration with coming up with even more tags, you can use the Etsy search bar. As you type in a search, a dropdown list will appear with suggestions of the most searched phrases using the words you entered. If you see any that are relevant to your items, try adding them as tags to have higher chances of coming up in the search.

I’d also suggest using all available photo slots for the listing (right now you have only 1 and you actually get up to 10). I personally think a lifestyle shot, perhaps showing your magnet in use on the fridge, would be a nice touch!

Hi Roshni! Hope you’re doing well! It’s so good to see you here - thank you for participating in Etsy India’s first ever Listing Critique!

I love the bow, it has a very christmas and holiday feel to it! I love the detailing on it.

Here are a couple tips I recommend to optimize this listing:

  • Title: Since the title of a listing is important for search relevance and are usually the first things shoppers tend to see, I would suggest reformatting the title to include key descriptions of the item that shoppers would be searching for such as “Christmas Hair Clip Bow”, “White and Gold bow”, “Printed Bow Hairclip”.
  • Tags: Instead of repeating terms, you want to make the 13 tags you add as unique as possible. By removing some of your repeated words and phrases, this frees up space to add additional terms you think buyers might use to search for your items. If you need inspiration with coming up with more tags, use the Etsy search bar. As you type in a search, a dropdown list will appear with suggestions of the most searched phrases using the words you entered. If you see any that are relevant to your items, try adding them as tags. Some tag words you could use for this listing are: “Printed Fabric Bow”, “White & Gold Bow”, “Festive bow hair clip”, ‘Holiday party accessories’
  • Photos: I’d suggest using all available photo slots for the listing (right now you have 2 and you actually get up to 10). This can help shoppers get a better feel for your items since they can't pick up and hold them before they purchase. I think a process shot of you making this bow would be lovely. A detailed shot which gives people some idea of the fabric and detailing would be great.

Thanks again for participating today. I hope this helps!

Hi Foram, My name is Shweta and I work on the Community team here in India.

Thank you for submitting the listing. I love that you’ve offered a detailed description of the product and a customization option - you’re off to a great start!

After carefully reviewing the listing, one of the main things I would suggest is trimming your title a bit. I recommend that you keep only three to four relevant phrases here. Put yourself in the buyer's shoes - whatever keywords you would put in while searching, you can use those terms. For example - baby shower banner, personalised birthday banner, girl-boy felt name banner, rainbow felt wall decor. I entered the term baby shower banner into the Etsy search bar and found some great options for keywords - use them!

One other recommendation would be for your product pictures. I love that your primary image is on a white background which really showcases the item and how it can be used. I think adding a shot of the process would be great. If you’re thinking of this as something buyers for nursery decor would be interested in then give them a feel of how it would sit in a nursery with other decor. Consider adding a few more to highlight the scale as well!

Hope this was helpful!

Thanks again for reaching out,

Shweta

Thanks

Hi Ranjana! My name is Shweta and I work on the Community team here in India. Thank you for submitting this listing. I love the Carnelian gemstone - so bright and beautiful!

The first thing that pops out to me is that you can use more variety in the words that you choose as tags. More variety will ensure a wider array of searches that your listing will appear in. You want to make sure that all your 13 tags are being used effectively.. The search algorithm has the ability to pull individual words from your tag phrases. You can use tags like ‘Orange gemstone jewelry’, ‘semi precious stones’, ‘spiritual gifts for her’ along others.

If you need inspiration with coming up with more tags, use the Etsy search bar. As you type in a search, a dropdown list will appear with suggestions of the most searched phrases using the words you entered. If you see any that are relevant to your items, try adding them as tags.

In terms of photos, one of your reviewers mentioned a beautiful pouch that it came in - definitely put in a packaging shot!

For example, your listing title is currently Carnelian Necklace Mala 6mm, 108 Beads mala necklace, Guru Beads Necklace mala, Plain Round beads Prayer Mala, Gemstone Mala Carnelian Mala. Rather than repeating your words in title like carnelian, necklace, mala, beads, consider placing the most relevant phrases in here. Think about what a buyer would search for when shopping for an item like this. Perhaps something like Orange Carnelian gemstone necklace, 108 round beads mala for meditation, Gifts for Spiritual friends. Stick to 2-3 phrases that will help buyers find your products!

Thanks again for participating today. I hope this helps!

Warmly,

Shweta

Hi Kanupriya!  So wonderful to meet you in the forums!

You have so many amazing things going on in your shop and listing. Congratulations on all your five star reviews and the pictures that accompany the reviews.  You can tell your buyers are very proud of their purchases. I love that you have a personalization option, it adds a very nice touch!

Here are some suggestions to make your listing stronger:

  • Titles: I would recommend including 3-4  relevant phrases here that buyers might be searching for on Etsy. “Engagement Ring Dome” is a great start. This is also a place where you can specify that it can be personalized - “Personalized Engagement Ring Box”, “Wedding Ring Snowglobe”.
  • Tags: Think of tags as keywords that buyers will input into the search bar on Etsy to find your items. We find that using tags with multiple words or phrases that are as specific as possible work the best for matching your listing with the perfect buyer. You can try adding something like - Personalized Dome, Wedding ring box, engagement ring box, wedding platter, Customized Snowglobe, Proposal ring box
  • Photos: To make your listing even stronger I would suggest adding one or two more zoomed out pictures to help with scale and style. Additionally, a shot of you doing some of this detailed quilling will be great! Since this is a gift - you should definitely consider using a packaging shot! Sometimes a finished product with some raw materials in the background also helps a buyer imagine the product coming together.

Hi Perpetual! Thank you for participating in India’s first ever listing critique. Thank you for submitting this listing. The KawaiiBat Washi Tape is quirky and cute.

I had the opportunity to review your listing, I would encourage you to work on your title. The first thing that jumps out to me is your listing title. I would recommend including 3-4  relevant phrases here that buyers might be searching for on Etsy. Think about what a buyer would search for when shopping for an item like this. This will help you frame your titles. Something like, “Kawaii Printed Tape”, “Recyclable Washi Tape”, “Quirky Printed Tape”. I would recommend using 2-3 phrases

One other recommendation is to be more specific with tags. Make sure you use all available tags with diverse terms so that you get as many opportunities as possible to get your items in front of buyers in search. We find that using tags with multiple words or phrases that are as specific as possible work the best for matching your listing with the perfect buyer.

For example, you could make your tags work for you more by including more synonyms that describe the actual item as well as its usage -- including words like recycled tape, paper washi tape, envelope tape, handmade card tape, planner decorator, stationery item, gift wrapping supplies, cute stationery etc.

If you need inspiration with coming up with more tags, use the Etsy search bar. As you type in a search, a dropdown list will appear with suggestions of the most searched phrases using the words you entered. If you see any that are relevant to your items, try adding them as tags.

I would love to see more photos of the product. It would be great to see this product in use - if it is used for gift wrapping and journaling then a photo of that would be great! Another one could be a packaging shot - showing how the tape is packed!

Hi Khadija! My name is Shweta and I work on the Community team here in India. Thank you for submitting this listing. Your Succulent Stone watercolor painting is beautiful.

After going through your listing, I would advise you to work on the title. Your listing is worded well but I noticed you’re using dashes to separate phrases in your listings. Buyer research shows that using commas instead of dashes helps titles appear more clean and readable. Also, since the title of a listing is important for search relevance and is usually one of the first things shoppers will see, I would suggest reformatting the title to include key descriptions of the item. Think about what shoppers would type into search when looking for an item like this. For example, maybe something like, “Succulent With Stones Painting, Original Floral Wall Art, Watercolor Wall Painting” would work well.

You’re doing a great job with your tags - they’re descriptive and accurate to your painting and they’re readable. I would also recommend looking into tags like watercolour botanicals!

Your pictures are very strong, I love that your primary image is on a blue background which really showcases the details of the painting. An idea would be to include a process shot in your secondary photos, to showcase how your work is made.

Thanks again for participating today. I hope this helps!

Warmly,

Hi myself Janki mehta, my shop name is jankiparijaa. Would love to get critique on my etsy listing

Hello Janki! My name is Shweta and I work for the Seller Community in India.

I really like the detailed description you’ve written for this item. It does a great job highlighting the work that goes into making your item and the extra features that make it special. While your title has some great phrases but I would recommend you to keep it a little short and make sure to use 3 - 4 phrases only in the title and the rest can come in the tags.

Think about your title and tags as words and phrases a buyer would type into search to look for your item. Since buyers tend to only see the first few words of a title before clicking into it, it might help to reformat your title a bit. Perhaps something like “Landscape Watercolour Painting, Modern Wall Art, Wall Painting for Home Decor, Sage Green Painting” may work better in the search algorithm!

Your tags, just like your title, are already off to a great start, but adding something like “gift for art lovers” versus ‘long distance gift’ might also be relevant for your listing.

I also want to mention that you’ve done a great job utilizing all your photos to show off the features of this item. Great job!

Thank you for sharing your listing. I hope this feedback is helpful!

Best,

Shweta

@LittleRedNook wrote:

Hi,this is Shweta from Little Red Nook. I would like some help with this listing:

www.etsy.com/listing/687835640/you-are-beery-special-embroidered-frame

Hello Shweta!

Super happy to see you here in the forums, participating in the first ever listing critique hosted by Etsy India! The product that you have submitted is quirky and beautiful - like all your products usually are :)

A few suggestions I would like to make are:

I would recommend tweaking your title a little bit to make it more descriptive. When creating a title, think from the buyers perspective and try to add those keywords in your title, words such as “Beer Lovers Wall Decor” , “Hand embroidered frame” or “You are very special gift”. Additionally, buyer research shows that using commas instead of dashes helps titles appear more clean and readable.

Another thing that stood out to me was that your tags are very similar, such as “godparents gift” and “grandparents gifts.” Instead of this, you want to make the 13 tags you add as unique as possible. By removing some of your repeated words and phrases, this frees up space to add additional terms you think buyers might use to search for your items. So you could try something like “beer wall hanging” or “beer lover wall art”, “cross stitch

Lastly, a great job on product imaging! I really like the close up shot, so that the viewer/buyer can really see the beauty up close. In addition to the images already present, why not try adding a few more to highlight the scale, process and packaging of this lovely product? This can help give a buyer a better idea about the product and how it could work for them. I would also recommend you add a lifestyle shot of the product in an actual setting - such as frame on a wall in a bedroom! I would also love to see a shot of you making this product!

I would also suggest leaving out any watermarks or texts - photos with watermarks or copy overlaid make it challenging to promote more broadly.

Thank you for being an active part of the community!

Hope this was helpful. Thanks for participating!

Warm wishes,

Shweta

Hi this is Pragya from Letterfix, here's my listing  https://www.etsy.com/in-en/listing/752093927/hand-painted-burlap-wedding-sign-custom?ref=shop_home_a...

Hi Pragya, my name is Shweta and I work on the Community team here in India. Thank you for submitting this listing. I love the calligraphy on the wedding banner!

After going through your listing, the first thing that I would recommend you is to make sure to use a comma to separate your phrases and use only 3-4 phrases as your title. Using Commas makes your title more readable which is appealing to the buyers and using 3-4 phrases in the title ensures that your title is concise.

While a couple of your phrases like “Hand Painted Burlap Wedding Sign, Custom Welcome Sign on Jute Fabric” are appropriate, I would recommend that you change your last phrase of the title to “Calligraphy banner for events”. This will make the buyers clearly understand that this product can be customised as per the occasion instead of writing different occasions separately in the title.

Regarding your photographs, they look fantastic!  You’ve done a great job including the photographs of the process  and added 6 different angles of the product. The first image in the listing is eye-catching and conveys what the item is. However, the second picture is not very different from the first one since only the text has changed. I would definitely recommend a few lifestyle shots of this banner - to let buyers see how it would sit in the midst of other wedding decor.

When reviewing your listing, I noticed that there were photos that featured a watermark at the bottom of the photos. I would recommend letting your awesome product shine through, and leaving the text for the product description. Photos with watermarks or copy overlaid make it challenging to promote more broadly.

Thanks again for participating today. I hope this helps!

Looking fwd to hearing from you!

Love, Nupur

Hello Nupur!

Thank you so much for submitting your listing, you have got a beautiful product!

Overall, your listing looks like it’s in great shape. You have done a fantastic job putting this listing up! However, after carefully reviewing your listing, I would recommend a few minor changes to your title.

I see that you have used various different keywords all separated with commas for easy reading - you’re on the right track here! With such a wide variety of terms, I wonder if you might want to trim your title down a bit?  For example, you could shorten your title to “Gold Bridal Maang Tikka, Indian Wedding Jewellery” and put the rest of the key phrases in the tags. You’re doing a great job with your tags -  I noticed one spelling error (bollywoood) - take care to remove spelling errors because these will not turn up in search!

As for your product imaging, I can see that some of the images, like the last three images are the same and not really conveying anything additional to the buyer. With this in mind, I suggest updating the pictures to add a variety of different images.

With such an intricately designed product like yours, it would be great if you could show the process, the packaging and highlight the scale of this lovely product. I recommend that your first shot should be a clear picture of the product and not a collage. If you can source a picture of a bride wearing this on her special day, or a model in bridal wear, buyers can get a feel of what it will look like against wedding finery.

Additionally, photos with watermarks or copy overlaid make it challenging to promote more broadly, so I would recommend making sure that the pictures have no watermarks - let the awesome product shine through!

Thanks again for participating. I hope this helps!

Warmly,

Hi Jassprit!

Shweta here, from the Community team of Etsy India. Thank you for participating - you’ve created such a beautiful piece!

Overall, I think you’ve done a great job putting up this listing! Especially the product description -  it’s wonderful to not only know all the technical details about the painting but about the artform as well.

After carefully reviewing however, The first thing that jumps out to me is your listing title. I would recommend including 3-4  relevant phrases here that buyers might be searching for on Etsy. “Madhubani Indian Art Acrylic Painting- Fine Art Print” is a great start, and you could expand this to include descriptive words and phrases. Perhaps something like, “Green Floral Painting” or “Birds on tree Acrylic Painting”. Here I would also recommend that you separate the phrases with a comma, as this makes a title appear clean and easy to read.

For your product photos, my advice would be to use the third image as your first image. Let a prominent picture of your product, with minimum to no shadows and clear background catch a buyers eye and then add a lifestyle shot. I would also highly recommend letting your awesome product shine through with no watermarks visible, as photos with watermarks or copy overlaid make it challenging to promote more broadly.

Additionally, as this is a beautiful and intricate painting, consider adding a few more photos to highlight the scale, process and packaging of this lovely product.

Lastly, my advice for the tags would be to think of them as keywords that buyers will input into the search bar on Etsy, to find your items. We find that using tags with multiple words or phrases that are as specific as possible work the best for matching your listing with the perfect buyer. So you could try something along the lines of “green madhubani art” or “acrylic parrots art” and other tags indicating use and occasion like ‘housewarming gift’.

Thanks again for participating,

Shweta.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Akanksha Rawat

Hi Akanksha! My name is Shweta and I work on the Community team here in India. Thank you for submitting this listing. Your shop has such a beautiful layout!

I noticed that your title could be more concise. You could shorten it by combining the most relevant phrases in here. Since you’re selling a digital listing, I would recommend adding the term “digital download” to your title. This is another way to make clear to your buyers that this is not a physical item. You could also add in the word “downloadable” in case someone searches for that instead of “printable”. Perhaps something like “personalized stickers, digital font stickers, digital lettering sticker” would work better in the search versus ‘svg’!

Anything else that feels relevant can go in your listing tags. You can add up to 13 tags, and it’s just as important to be descriptive here. For example, consider tags like “digital art” , “black font sticker”, “customized stickers” versus “cut file” and “girl svg”.

I also think adding more photos with minimum text to this listing could be helpful. Photos with watermarks or copy overlaid make it challenging to promote more broadly. Consider adding a few more kinds of pictures which can show the potential use and process shot of this lovely digital product. Maybe a shot of this sticker on a laptop, notebook and any other use cases would be super! A shot of you doodling this sticker would also be great!

Thanks again for participating today. I hope this helps!

Warmly,

Shweta

Hi Shweta! Thanks for India’s first ever listing critique. My name is Shweta and I work for Etsy Seller Community in India.Thank you for submitting your listing - what a quirky decorative bottle! You have done a great job at creating a clear and compelling listing.

After reviewing your listing,I would like to advise you to work on the listing’s titles and tags as they are the keywords that increases the visibility of your product while searching on Etsy.

For example, your listing title is currently “Bohochic bottle, dotted , beaded look”. Think about what a buyer would search for when shopping for an item like this. Perhaps something like a “Mandala Decorative Bottle, Dotted Acrylic Bottle, Upcycled Boho Chic Bottle” would work better in search!

Anything else that feels relevant can go in your listing tags. You’ve currently used a lot of single word tags - we find that using tags with multiple words or phrases that are as specific as possible work the best for matching your listing with the perfect buyer. You can add up to 13 tags, and it’s just as important to be descriptive here. For example, consider tags like “dot painting bottle” and “acrylic art bottle” versus “beaded look” and “red blue”.

I also think adding more photos to this listing could be helpful. Consider adding a few more to highlight the scale, potential use, and packaging of this lovely product.

I hope this is helpful!

Best,

Shweta

Hi Gangadevi! My name is Shweta and I work on the Community team here in India. Thank you for submitting this listing. I love the Cube Beads Necklace Set- so beautiful!

For example, your listing title is currently Red Howlite Cube Beads Necklace Set which seems fine but I would recommend you to write more relevant phrases here. Think about what a buyer would search for when shopping for an item like this. Perhaps something like Red beaded necklace, howlite stone long necklace, Indian red necklace

One small thing you may consider is adding a “process” photo. Since your products are handmade and very intricate, I can imagine a potential buyer enjoying seeing a behind the scenes photo of how they are made.I would also recommend adding a few lifestyle shots - to give the buyer a feel of the kinds of outfits this could go well with!

Thanks again for participating today. I hope this helps!

My newest listing

https://www.etsy.com/in-en/listing/763820586/drop-pearl-necklace-white-necklace?ref=shop_home_active...

Hi Neha,

Thank you for participating.

I took a look at your listing and I must compliment you on it. The necklace looks beautiful and the product description really helps to understand how to best use it and look after it as well!

Your listing title is worded well and really specific but I typically suggest just going with the 3-4 most relevant phrases here and putting the rest in your tags.  So you could try using a few phrases, such as “pearl statement necklace”, “Bridal layered necklace”.

Similarly, I can see that in tags you're repeating some words and phrases in your tags, such as “pearl” and “necklace.” Instead of repeating terms, you want to make the 13 tags you add as unique as possible. By removing some of your repeated words and phrases, this frees up space to add additional terms you think buyers might use to search for your items.

As long as you add a keyword like "necklace" in one of your tags, you'll be covered if a buyer includes "necklace" in a phrase that they search. The search algorithm has the ability to pull individual words from your tag phrases. Also, is this also something you might also envision as a great gift? If so, you may consider adding “gift” to your title, as well.

Lastly, your product images are great as they offer a variety of shots. I would just like to suggest adding clear and non-blurry close ups of the product, along with a few process shots, packaging shots and more.

For inspiration, check out this helpful article on the same: https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/7-essential-types-of-product-photos/22504064051

Thanks again for participating and all the very best!

Hello Hardik! Thanks for joining the Listing Critique. My name is Shweta and I work in the Community Team in India.

I really like the detailed description you have written for your item. It does a great job highlighting the benefits of your item and the extra features that make it special, while keeping it safe and friendly for children.

The first thing which comes to my mind when I see your product is the listing title. I would recommend including 3-4  relevant phrases here that buyers might be searching for on Etsy. For example, ‘3D printed alphabet tracing board’, ‘Montessori learning toys’, ‘Creative toys for children’.

Other relevant things can go in listing tags like ‘learning toys’, ‘3D printed board’, ‘tracing boards’, ‘uppercase trace toy’, ‘biodegradable toys’. Make sure you utilize all the 13 tags which are specific to your product and are descriptive as these keywords are very important in terms of visibility in searches - you’ve only done.

I would recommend you add the “About your shop” section since it really helps the buyer understand your making process, and it reminds the buyer that real humans are on the other side of this listing making it! Some great tips on an about us section can be found here - https://www.etsy.com/in-en/seller-handbook/article/how-to-craft-a-killer-about-section/22636178725

Hello everyone.

We are from PaperPlane by Neh and Bha Studio.

https://www.etsy.com/listing/719498929/dog-lamp-bedside-lamp-study-lamp-table?ref=listings_manager_g...

Hi Nehal and Bharati! So good to see you here in the forums! Thank you for submitting this listing. I really loved the dog-shaped lamp idea - so creative and functional!

My biggest advice for you is to work on your photographs. I would recommend that you replace your first image with a clear image of the product. Your lifestyle shots, which can come next, have too many distracting elements in them - I would recommend a lifestyle shot of this on a table, with some fun elements like a plant etc! Also, I noticed that there were photos that featured a watermark or text overlaid. I would recommend letting your awesome product shine through and leaving the text for the product description. Photos with watermarks or copy overlaid make it challenging to promote more broadly.

Keywords are very important in terms of visibility in searches - some changes can help you find more buyers.  For example, your listing title is currently, “Dog Lamp | Bedside lamp | Study Lamp | Table Lamp | Animal Lamp | Wooden Bedside Lamp DOGGO”. Rather than using slashes (|) and incomplete words, consider using commas and placing the most relevant phrases in here. Buyer research shows that using commas instead of slashes helps titles appear more clean and readable. Think about what a buyer would search for when shopping for a functional lamp. Perhaps something like a ‘Dog shaped table lamp’, Wooden brown study lamp, Decorative bedside lamp”.

Anything else that feels relevant can go in your listing tags. You can add up to 13 tags, and it’s just as important to be descriptive here. For example, consider tags like “reading lamps”, “desk study lamp”, “wooden lamps”, “lamps with LED”, “custom dog lamp” etc. In addition to this, try rotating keywords according to the festive season and its potential use.

If you need inspiration with coming up with more tags, use the Etsy search bar. As you type in a search, a dropdown list will appear with suggestions of the most searched phrases using the words you entered. If you see any that are relevant to your items, try adding them as tags.

Thanks again for participating today. I hope this helps!

Hi,

Hi Sakina! My name is Shweta and I work on the Community team here in India.

First of all, congratulations for 5 star reviews and so many amazing things going on in your store. You can tell your buyers are very happy and awe struck by their purchases.

Here are a few suggestion to make your listings even stronger:

Titles: I recommend you craft your titles using short terms that buyers may use when searching for an item. I also recommend separating the terms with commas and limiting yourself to 3-4 terms. (You can add additional ones in your tags!) Here are few phrases you could add in your titles - “Leather duffel bag, Weekend travel bag, Unisex sports bag”.

Tags: A good rule of thumb white creating tags is stop repeating some words and phrases in your tags, such as “duffle bag”, “duffel bag” and “duffle bags” Instead of repeating terms, you want to make full use of the 13 tags you add (so make them as unique as possible) (Avoid using different spellings for the same word). Removing some of your repetitive terms can free up the space to add additional terms you think buyers might use to search for your items. For example, try using “leather duffle bag”, “vacation duffle”, “travel tote bags”, “unisex gym bag”, ‘tan leather bag’ etc.

Photos: I’d also suggest using all available photo slots for the listing (right now you have 5 and you actually get up to 10). This can help shoppers get a better feel for your items since they can't pick up and hold them before they purchase. If you need more ideas on what other types of photos to take, consider having a model display or hold the item.

As you have already added a few pictures from different angles, one small thing you may consider is adding a “lifestyle” photo which can also give somebody a sense of scale. Perhaps somebody wearing or holding the bag or a picture with other travel accessories to give them a feel of the holiday you want them to carry this on!

Thanks for joining Etsy India’s first ever Listing Critique. Hope this helps!

Best,

Shweta

Hey. Can you check my listing?

https://etsy.me/2uKRKNu  Thank you so much

Hello Joy,

Thanks for participating. Your custom soft toy tutorials are super cute!

The first thing that jumps out to me is your listing title. Since the title of a listing is important for search relevance and is usually the first thing shoppers tend to see, I would suggest reformatting the title to include key descriptions of the item. Also, I’d suggest separating out phrases of your title with commas and specify that this is a digital file. For example - “Custom korean band BT21 tutorial, soft toy crochet tutorial, DIY crochet downloadable patterns”.

Also, it becomes important to include relevant keywords in listing tags. Also, use tags with multiple words or phrases that are as specific as possible to work the best for matching your listing with the perfect buyer. Consider using “custom toy patterns, korean band pattern, digital tutorials, soft toy tutorials, crochet tutorial” versus tags like ‘anvigranny’  - these might help in search discoverability!

Since you are offering online tutorials that can be a new art hanging in home within minutes, I recommend adding more listing images like a process or a lifestyle shot in order to attract potential buyers and help them in decision making. Hi please find below my todays listing!

Hello Abhinav! Good to see you in the forums. I must say, you have some beautiful prints. They look so quirky and you can tell that a lot of love has gone into making each one of them.

I think with a few minor tweaks in your listing title can have even greater conversion results. Start with your strongest title, I would recommend “black wooden breakfast tray”. I recommend using commas while using phrases for your titles that are the most likely things shoppers are looking for. Buyer research shows that using commas instead of slashes helps titles appear more clean and readable.

Some phrases for the title could be -  “ Black Floral Serving Tray, Wooden Bed Table, Printed Folding Table.”

Since, you have added a lot of prints in the same listing, here is a help article that could help you understand - hot to add variations in the listing: https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115015664047-How-to-Add-Variations-for-Your-Listings?segment.... Listing them as variations will make the listing look more structured!

You’re doing a great job with your tags - they’re descriptive and accurate to your product. It might help to think more about how a buyer might phrase these terms when searching for an item and limit yourself to three of those terms. I would definitely recommend using terms like ‘floral’, ‘bird print’.

I hope this helps. Thank you for participating!

Hello Shazia! I wanted to start by letting you know that when I opened this listing, my very first thought was “how cute is this dress!!”. I particularly enjoyed reading your shop’s story. It’s personal and makes me feel like I’ve made a connection with you already.

I had a few thoughts that I hope will be able to help you get more conversions. First, I love that you have a lot of photos, but I think it would be helpful to have a process photo to show sellers how you make this - a pair of hands embroidering the flowers on perhaps?

Second, I would recommend including 3-4 relevant phrases for your titles that buyers might be searching for on Etsy. “Gown for Barbie” is a great start, and you could expand this to include the word “dress” or mention toys or dolls. For instance, Pink Doll Dress, Fashion Doll Dress, Handmade Doll Clothes, Gift Dress for Doll.

Lastly, I noticed that your product description is not informative enough. You might consider adding a few details of your product - it helps buyers understand your product in a better way.

Overall, I think you’re doing a great job, and keep up the good work!

Thanks

Hi Veeni! Thank you for submitting this listing. I took a look at your listing and I absolutely love your product.

Here are a few recommendations for your listings:

First of all, I would like to suggest adding more photos (right now you have 3 and you actually get up to 10).The more product photos you provide, the more a buyer can gain confidence about purchasing the item.  I would start with a really clear photo of these fabric coasters. While I definitely recommend photographing with a fun element - the poutporie and the red background distract from the coasters. I would recommend elements like a white table, a small plant. Consider adding a lifestyle photo where you can show the potential use of the coasters - how would this look with a mug on it! You could also consider adding a photo that shows how the item ships, that way the shopper can see your packaging. This may be particularly useful during the holiday season as shoppers are looking to send gifts. Finally, I highly recommend that you add a process shot, meaning, a photo of your hands making the coasters; this will help reinforce to the shopper that your item is handmade and special.

I also have a few ideas on how you can improve your listing to increase conversion. I’d recommend streamlining your titles and tags and sticking to the most important phrases that describe the coasters - use terms like ‘blue block printed coasters’, ‘dyed fabric coasters’, ‘ethnic print coasters’, ‘cloth coaster set’

I think that your shop is fantastic and that you are on the right path. I hope that this has been helpful.

Thanks,

Shweta

Your title and description are really good! You make it very clear that you are selling party banners. However, I noticed that you're repeating some words and phrases in your tags, such as “st patricks banner”, “st patricks garland”, “party decor”,”banner”.  Instead of repeating terms, you want to make the 13 tags you add as unique as possible. By removing some of your repeated words and phrases, this frees up space to add additional terms you think buyers might use to search for your items. The search algorithm has the ability to pull individual words from your tag phrases. I would recommend adding more tags like ‘wall hanging’, ‘ party bunting’, ‘irish clover’

Hello Shelly! Good to see you here in forums!

Going over your submitted listing, I liked the unique design and it looks like it can go very well with Indo-western ensembles.

I would love you to have someone model this necklace or give a sneak peak into the making of this necklace (process shot!). Just imagine how wonderful it would be to display how this product can be styled and how it would compliment an outfit. You can also think of highlighting the scale, packaging, showing variations and adding more images from different angles. I think one shot of the product with elements of the raw material alongside the final product would be great!

For your listing title, I would recommend you use 3-4 relevant phrases that offer key descriptions about an item. “Pastel Pink Enamel Necklace” is a great start. Try expanding this to include phrases like “Pastel pink pearl necklace, Handmade kundan long necklace, Custom pink wedding necklace, Indian enamel necklace”.

Make sure you use all available tags with relevant diverse terms so that you get as many opportunities as possible to get your items in front of buyers in search. Think of tags as keywords that buyers will input into the search bar on Etsy to find your items. You can try adding something like ”baby pink necklace”, “pearl long necklace”, “kundan necklace” or “bridal necklace” instead of “baby pink, necklace, casual wear or occasion” since these suggested tags are a bit more relevant to the listing.

If you need inspiration with coming up with more tags, use the Etsy search bar. As you type in a search, a dropdown list will appear with suggestions of the most searched phrases using the words you entered. If you see any that are relevant to your items, try adding them as tags.

Best of luck this season! Hope this is helpful!

Hi Keerthi! So wonderful to see you in the forums!

I am a big fan of natural skin care products and I personally love using them!

You have so many amazing things going on in your shop and listing. Congratulations on all your five star reviews and the pictures that accompany the reviews.  You can tell your buyers are very proud of their purchases.

After viewing your listing, I suggest you frame your title, keeping in mind the way your buyers may be searching for your items. You can consider using multiple keywords which are specific to your product. Consider using “Shea butter lip and cheek tint, Natural cheek tint and balms, Organic lip butter, Organic lip gloss base”

You can also consider adding seasonally relevant phrases in title and tags for shoppers looking for gifts (think “gift for wife” or “valentines gift”). One other recommendation is to include more specific words that describe the actual item or its usage. Perhaps something like “shea butter tint, handmade cheek tint, organic chapstick, chemical free balm, everyday lip balms”.

While there is not much for me to say about your product photography (as you have already hit the spot), all I suggest is using clear versions of the packaging shot and maybe a shot against a white background showing what the ingredients in the same frame. You can also refer to the link below for recreating listing images:

Hi Ninoshka! Good to see you here in the forums! Thanks for sharing this listing. I love the look of this dress, and the design is especially unique. I think this will really speak to prospective buyers.

I love the “About your shop” section since it really helps me understand your making process, and it reminds me that real humans are on the other side of this listing making it!

One suggestion I have is to think like a buyer when adjusting your titles and tags. Imagine, what would a buyer be most likely to type into the search bar that would want to bring up my item? For example, you might try something like “Indigo Cotton Dress, Handloom Women’s Dress, Blue Cotton Tunic.” The rest of the phrases you’d like to include can live in your tags - here you can enter finer details about your item like colors and textures. Try to use different phrases for your tags than what you used in your title, for example -  “embroidered dress, office wear dress, handspun dress, indigo khadi dress, cotton dress for her, casual women wear, gifts for her, blue summer dress”.

I also love that you have someone model your dress. Your pictures are very strong. In addition to the current ones, an idea would be to include a process shot in your secondary photos, to showcase how your dress is made. A clear closeup shot of the fabric and embroidery would also be good!

Congratulations on your National Award for best menswear! :)

Hi Aalia! Good to see you here in the forums! Thank you for submitting this listing. I love the beautiful gift set!

I’ve had a chance to review your listing and my best advice would be to work on your listing’s keywords. Your listing title is worded well and really specific. I like that you kept it simple! Still, I typically suggest just going with the 3-4 most relevant phrases here and putting the rest in your tags.

When crafting your titles and tags it’s important to think about how your buyers are searching for your items. Think of descriptive words like colors, patterns, and materials. For the title, maybe something like “Wire Ring and bracelet set, women's jewellery set, Metal jewellery set” would work well?

I would also suggest that you use commas to separate the phrases that you use. Buyers tend to gravitate towards listings with more readable titles.

For your tags, consider highlighting the fact that your items are one of a kind rather than using phrases like girlfriend daughter, historic jewelles or Indian Egyptian and explore words like ‘copper coloured jewelry’, “green beaded jewelry”,

I would love to see a process shot - of you making this ring and bracelet!

Buyer research shows that using commas instead of dashes helps titles appear more clean and readable.

For example, the title for this listing could be Patterned pencil case, eco friendly pouch, Cotton handmade pencil case. Think about what a buyer would search for when shopping for an item like this. This will help you frame your titles.

I see that you have added 5 different angles of your product. I would love to see more photos of them. We actually heard through buyer research that 90% of them are influenced most by the quality of the product-image. Clear, crisp photos of the item from every angle, and a photo from your packaging and a photo with a few elements like stationery inside the pouch can help buyers understand the product better. You can find more tips for Photos in our Ultimate Guide for Photography in the Seller Handbook.

Hi Sid! Thank you for submitting this listing. I love the beautiful presets!

I’ve had a chance to review your listing and my advice would be to work on your listing’s title. While I think you’ve done a great job with applying relevant words and phrases to your title and tags, trimming your title down a bit to 3-4 phrases could create more focus and be more appealing to potential buyers.

For example, I would recommend that you remove 5PASTEL from the title. Also, since you’re selling a digital listing, I would recommend adding the term ”digital” to your title. This is another way to make clear to your buyers that this is not a physical item. With that in mind, maybe something like ‘Instagram and blogger presets’, ‘digital download filters’, ‘vintage film presets’ would work well as a title.

When reviewing your listing, I noticed that your first photo featured a watermark or text overlaid. I also noticed that your fourth photo included text with exciting deals for the buyers. I would recommend letting your awesome product shine through, and leaving the text for the product description. Photos with watermarks or text overlaid make it challenging to promote more broadly.

Thanks again for participating today. I hope this helps!

Warmly,

Shweta

Hi Shreya! Thank you for submitting this listing. I really like your handcrafted journal - it is beautiful.

You have so many amazing things going on in your shop and listing. Congratulations on all your five star reviews and the pictures that accompany the reviews.  You can tell your buyers are very proud of their purchases.

So overall, it seems like your listing is in great shape! Nice job. It’s especially great that you have key search terms in your title, as it’s important that your listing title reads as if a buyer were actually searching for it. I think you’ve done a great job with your title and tags but I wonder if you might trim your title down a bit?  For example, you could shorten your title to “Hand lettered customized journal, personalized travel diary, handcrafted diary” and put the rest of the key phrases in the tags.

I’m also glad to see you used (9 out of 10) photo slots, which we always recommend. Looking at your listing closely, I might suggest showing your items displayed in a packaging to help buyers imagine what it would be like to give this as a gift. I would love to recommend you to have a process shot illustrating how you hand letter carefully on these notebooks, which buyers also love to see. Otherwise, I think all your images are off to a great start.

It was a pleasure critiquing your listing, I hope it helps.

Warmly,

Shweta

Thank you.

Hi Sonali! Thank you so much for participating.

I love the design of the prints you offer! The colors are really beautiful.

Here are a few suggestions for your listing “Purple ikat kurti / Ikat Kurta women / Ikat Dress”:

Title: Since the title of a listing is important for search relevance and are usually the first things shoppers tend to see, I would suggest rephrasing the title to include key descriptions of the item that shoppers would be searching for something like, “Cotton Printed Tunic For Women, Handloom Designer Ikat Kurti”.

Tags: I noticed that you're repeating some words and phrases in your tags, such as “ikat” , “dress”and “cotton”. Instead of repeating terms, you want to make the 13 tags you add as unique as possible. By removing some of your repeated words and phrases, this frees up space to add additional terms you think buyers might use to search for your items. As long as you add a keyword like "ikat" in 1 of your tags, you'll be covered if a buyer includes "ikat" in a phrase that they search. The search algorithm has the ability to pull individual words from your tag phrases. Here are some tags you could include for this listing: “handloom kurti”,  “office wear dress”, “festive tunic, “indian handloom dress”.

Photos: I think adding more photos to this listing could be helpful. This can help shoppers get a better feel for your items since they can't pick up and hold them before they purchase. Consider adding a few more to highlight the packaging, process of this lovely product. I would also request you to remove the last two images of the listings and put more photos of products.

Warm regards

Hi Kanika! Thanks for participating today! You have so many beautiful items in your shop.

As I reviewed your title, a couple of things stood out to me. You’re doing a good job of adding descriptive keywords. You could expand some of the key phrases you’re using here to include more phrases buyers might be searching for on Etsy. For example, “Turquoise Green Necklace”. I’d also recommend making sure the first 3-4 words are super relevant to what a buyer might search for. You could try revising from “natural wood polish” to something like “Wooden Beaded Necklace”.

The same advice goes for your tags. I’d recommend taking advantage of all 13 tags and expanding these to include phrases like “wooden necklace,” “gold finish pendant”. Apart from that, I would request you to avoid using one word tags. For both your tags and titles, you could also consider adding some seasonally relevant keywords that relate to holiday gifting and shopping.

I’d also suggest using all available photo slots for the listing (right now you have 4 and you actually get up to 10). This can help shoppers get a better feel for your items since they can't pick up and hold them before they purchase. I would recommend that you have a lifestyle shot to give the buyers a feel of what this product will look like against an outfit.

Thanks again for participating today. I hope this helps!

Hi Mahak! Thank you for sharing this listing - these paintings would make a wonderful gift for the art lovers.

The first thing that jumps out to me is your listing title. I would recommend including 3-4  relevant phrases here that buyers might be searching for on Etsy. “Abstract Acrylic Painting” or “Acrylic Painting On Italian Paper” is a great start.

I’d also suggest using all available photo slots for the listing (right now you have 4 and you actually get up to 10). Add a lifestyle shot of how a living room will look with this painting on a wall. I would also love to see a process shot of you making this painting!

Another idea might be to add something about the theme or inspiration of your painting in the description - it helps the buyer understand what makes your item in a better way.

The other place I’d focus is your tags - it’s great that you’re using all of them! You could maximize the effect even more by replacing one word tags. For example, replace “Rectangle” with “rectangular painting” or “abstract” with “abstract wall art”.

Hope this helps - thanks for participating!

Best,

Hi Jaskirat!

Thanks for submitting your listing. You’ve got an incredibly unique product and you’ve done a great job on the product description as it gives a clear idea of the product and its significance as well!

However, I just wanted to bring the title to your notice. When crafting your titles and tags it’s important to think about how your buyers are searching for your items. Think of descriptive words like colors, patterns, and materials. So in this case, you could try using keywords such as “Wooden Laughing Buddha” or “Brown Laughing Buddha Set of 3”.

Similarly, think of tags as keywords that buyers will input into the search bar on Etsy to find your items. We find that using tags with multiple words or phrases that are as specific as possible work the best for matching your listing with the perfect buyer. For example, consider tags like “wooden buddha decor” versus “buddhist” and “positive decor”.  It would be great to have a lifestyle shot of how a living room would look with this set in it.

As for the product images, I love the close up shots that you have uploaded. However, I would recommend uploading a few more shots that show the process, the packaging of it and more. To know more, check out this article - https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/7-essential-types-of-product-photos/22504064051

Apart from these points, your listing looks great!

Hi,

Please provide a listing Critique for the following Listing. Thanks

https://www.etsy.com/in-en/listing/764025238/sailing-boat-silver-plated-cufflinks-for?ref=listings_m...

Hi @EstiloMan! I must say you have really quirky unisex accessories and it shows that a lot of time has been taken to handcraft each piece.

I think a few tweaks can lead you to greater conversion results. Like looking through your images, I found that your one of the listing images (showing the care instructions) could have been jotted down in the product description. Customers love to see photos that show the making and variation process. You can also consider adding packaging, process or lifestyle shots and can even click pictures from different angles with a crisp/white background to enable buyers help them connect with your product and better visualize what they will be receiving. A shot someone wearing these cufflinks would be great!

For your title, I would suggest you streamline and stick to 3-4 most relevant phrases that describe your cufflink. Perhaps consider replacing your current title “Sailing Boat Silver Plated Cufflinks for Men, Sailor, Trendy Yacht, Sail Boat for Husband, Teenage Boys Gift, Valentines Gift for Boyfriend’ with “Custom sailing boat men’s cufflink, Yacht shaped silver cufflink, Handmade cufflinks for men, Valentines day gift”.

Also, try including relevant diverse terms in tags so that you get as many opportunities as possible to get your items in front of buyers in search. Think of tags as keywords that buyers will input into the search bar on Etsy to find your items. You can use phrases like “silver cufflink, cufflinks for men, yacht cufflink, boat shape cufflink, custom cufflinks, gift for boyfriend etc.” as these seem a bit more relevant to the listing.

You can also try rotating the keywords which are specific to your listing according to the season, occasion or gifting purpose. I hope these ideas help you improve your products.

Cheers,

Shweta

Hi Vinita!

Super happy to see you here in the forums!

Thank you for submitting your listing. What an incredible product you have!

You have so many amazing things going on in your shop and listing. Congratulations on all your five star reviews and the pictures that accompany the reviews.  You can tell your buyers are very proud of their purchases.

Overall, your listing looks good to me and you’ve done an excellent job on the product description.

However, one of the things that popped out to me was the listing title. I see that you have offered various different keywords with comma - that’s awesome but I wonder if you might want to trim your title down a bit?  For example, you could shorten your title to “Peel & Stick Home Decor, Tile Wall and Floor Self Adhesive Stickers, Vinyl Stick on Patterns” and put the rest of the key phrases in the tags.

You’ve done a fantastic job with the product images!

Lastly, I noticed you’re using all 13 tags for this listing but why not use a variety of keywords here? Think of tags as keywords that buyers will input into the search bar on Etsy to find your items. We find that using tags with multiple words or phrases that are as specific as possible work the best for matching your listing with the perfect buyer. For example, consider tags like “DIY decor stickers” and “black vinyl stickers” versus “flooring” and “4 inch tile decal”.

Apart from these points, your listing looks in great shape.

I hope this helped and thanks again for participating!

Thank you for being an active part of the community!

Hi Rajiv! Thank you for sharing your listing—I love your jewellery! They’re beautiful and look really well made.

Since product photos play an important role in shopper decision making, I might try adding some additional photos. Did you know you can add up to 10 photos? I recommend including process photos so that buyers can get a sense of how your items are made. This is a great way to build a connection with your buyers and set your shop apart from the competition. A lifestyle shot with someone wearing this necklace to give them a feeling of what this would look like against an outfit!

I think you’ve done a great job with your title but I wonder if you might trim your title down a bit?  For example, you could shorten your title to ‘Green Emerald Necklace, Women Gemstone Jewellery, Oval Stone Neckpiece’ and put the rest of the details in the product description.

Finally, as you may know, tags play an important role in getting your items seen in search by the right buyers. Make sure you are using all 13 of them so as to boost your visibility in search. For instance, try using tags like gemstone necklace, gift for her, anniversary gift, emerald neckpiece, green stone necklace etc.

I hope this has been helpful for you!

Thanks,

Hello Tanvi! Hope you’re doing well. I love the colorful products on your shop, the banner picture is super appealing.

Coming to your listing, I love the look of this straw bag - it’s so trendy! The photo with the model shots makes me feel like going on a vacation already! You have 8 quality photos, and your listing description and policies include information that a buyer is likely interested in knowing. I also love the “About your shop” section since it really helps me understand your making process, and it reminds me that real humans are on the other side of this listing making it!

While everything is on point, I just have a few suggestions for you:

Title: I noticed you’re using dashes to separate phrases in your listings. Buyer research shows that using commas instead of dashes helps titles appear more clean, readable and more appealing to the buyer and using 3-4 phrases in the title ensures that your title is concise. While some of your phrases are great, here are a few suggestions, “Cactus Shoulder Bag”, “Straw Beach Bag”, “Tropical Print Handbag”

Photos: Your pictures are very strong, my suggestion would be your second shot should be your primary image as it really showcases the item and the subtle color change. An idea would be to include a process shot in your secondary photos, to showcase how the straw bag is made

You have so many amazing things going on in your shop and listing. Congratulations on all your five star reviews and the pictures that accompany the reviews.  I hope my suggestions help you!

Thanks!!

Hello there! Thank you for participating in India’s first ever EtSEO!

First, I love the craftsmanship of this macrame coasters set - I can tell you put a lot of time into your work!

First, I think the quality of your photos is great.  It features the item in a clear way and I feel like the buyer knows exactly what they’re getting.  I would suggest including 1 or 2 photos of the coasters being used - potentially like a lifestyle shot.  I think this would give buyers an even clearer view of the item size.

Second, I wonder if you might trim down your listing title and move some of those phrases into the tags section.  For example, the title could be: Set of 2 Macrame Coasters (I think this is specific enough) and you can move the other phrases to the tags.

Thirdly, It looks like you’re using tags for your listing (which is important!). Make sure you use all available tags with diverse terms so that you get as many opportunities as possible to get your items in front of buyers in search. It looks like as of now you’ve used 2 tags and you actually get up to 13! One other recommendation is to be more specific with tags.  For example, some tags could be - “Macrame Coasters” “Fabric Coasters”, “set of 2 Coasters”, “Boho table decor”, “Housewarming gift”, “Kitchen decor”, “reversible coasters”,”colorful coasters”.

Finally, I think you can add some information about yourself in your shop’s About section.  As an Etsy customer myself, I love reading about sellers, it maintains the human connection and makes the item feel even more special.

I hope this is helpful to you. Thank you!

https://www.etsy.com/in-en/listing/709405695/faux-fur-sleeve-for-your?ref=shop_home_feat_1&frs=1

Thank you!

Hi there! Thank you for sharing your listing - I love these multi functional sleeves! They’re beautiful and look really well made.

Few suggestions I have are: to think like a buyer when writing your titles. Imagine, what would a buyer be most likely to type into the search bar that would want to bring up my item? For example, you might try something like “ faux fur sleeve for tablets, cover for ipad, soft fur ipad case.” The rest of the phrases you’d like to include can live in your tags - here you can enter finer details about your item like colors and textures. Try to use different phrases for your tags than what you used in your title.

Think of tags as keywords that buyers will input into the search bar on Etsy to find your items. We find that using tags with multiple words or phrases that are as specific as possible work the best for matching your listing with the perfect buyer. You can try adding something like “faux fur sleeve, Ipad sleeve, handmade book keeper” since these suggested tags are a bit more relevant to the listing itself.

If you need inspiration with coming up with more tags, use the Etsy search bar. As you type in a search, a dropdown list will appear with suggestions of the most searched phrases using the words you entered. If you see any that are relevant to your items, try adding them as tags.

I also think adding more photos to this listing could be helpful. Consider adding a few more to highlight the scale, potential use, and packaging of this lovely product. For inspiration, check out this Seller Handbook article:

Hi Neha,

Thank you for submitting this listing. I love the white lilies on that colorful background - so beautiful!

I took a look at your listing and have few suggestions to make:

Title: When crafting your titles it’s important to think about how your buyers are searching for your items. Think of descriptive words like colors, patterns, and materials. I would avoid words like “Pristine” since these could be considered subjective terms. Some phrases you could add in your title are “White lilies oil canvas painting, Colorful flower painting, Flower wall decor”.

Tags: Think of tags as keywords that buyers will input into the search bar on Etsy to find your items. We find that using tags with multiple words or phrases that are as specific as possible work the best for matching your listing with the perfect buyer. You can try adding something like “white water lilies painting” or “Colorful Canvas Painting” or even “Abstract painting wall decor” instead of “pink or acrylic”.

(If you need inspiration with coming up with more tags, use the Etsy search bar. As you type in a search, a dropdown list will appear with suggestions of the most searched phrases using the words you entered. If you see any that are relevant to your items, try adding them as tags.)

Photos: The first image in the listing is eye-catching and conveys what the item is. That’s good! The third picture is almost the same as the first one, and the 5th one is a close-up but not really conveying anything additional to the buyer, it is not really showing the final product. With this in mind, I suggest updating the pictures to include a couple of different finished products so that the buyer sees how the product looks with different types of background images and preferably different color choices. And show a couple of pictures where the final product is actually printed on something and in real life, like a framed painting on the wall of a living room, basically using an actual setting. You could also consider adding a photo that shows how the item ships, that way the shopper can see your packaging. This may be particularly useful during the holiday season as shoppers are looking to send gifts.

I hope that this has been helpful and that you have a good response on your Etsy shop!

Hello Catherine!

Super happy to see you here in the forums!

You have so many amazing things going on in your shop and listing. Congratulations on all your five star reviews and the pictures that accompany the reviews. Your title and description are really good! You make it very clear that you are selling t-shirts. I love your photos and definitely would click on them if I were to browse Etsy for these banners!

The first image in the listing is eye-catching and conveys what the item is. That’s good! The second picture I recommend should be on a white background. The fifth picture is almost the same as the seventh one, and the 6th one is a close-up of the logo but not really conveying anything additional to the buyer. With this in mind, I suggest updating the pictures to include a couple of different finished products so that the buyer sees how the product looks with different types of background images and preferably different color choices. And show a couple of pictures where the final product is actually packed - to show how the packaging looks!

I’d also suggest using all available photo slots for the listing (right now you have 7 and you actually get up to 10). This can help shoppers get a better feel for your items since they can't pick up and hold them before they purchase. If you need more ideas on what other types of photos to take, consider having a model display or hold the item.

Your keywords, tags, and description are spot on. I’m happy to see you are on the right path!

I wish you luck with your Etsy shop!

Thank you,

Shweta!

Re: Listing Critique!

Thank you!

Re: Listing Critique!

If you need more ideas on what other types of photos to take, check out this Seller Handbook article: https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/7-essential-types-of-product-photos/22504064051

Thank you for being an active part of the community!

I hope this helps!

Warmly,

Shweta
