Problems withThread breaking

I just bought the new Brothers Dream machine, I previously owned the brothers 1500d. I am doing a lot of appliqués, I have tried several different needles, turned down the speed still having a lot of trouble with the thread breaking or fraying..I don't remember having this much trouble with old machine. I am using poly mesh for stablizer. . Any advice????

Re: Problems withThread breaking

I had issues with the same thing with my Dream Creator and I had to change thread. I use Sigma and rarely have any issues. I found it was happening mostly between "jumps." I think it is the thread is heating up and that is causing the fraying. I also use a thread stand and that helps a lot too.

Re: Problems withThread breaking

Are you using temporary adhesive for your applique? I use a silicon spray on the needles if I am using adhesive or sticky stabiliser.

Re: Problems withThread breaking

Polyester Embroidery threads are stronger, try King Star I have never had this thread break on me.
Embroidery Titanium needles size 80/12 are great and last a long time.
