Re: Sale Celebration Thread!

Well, okay then, I'll go first.... heehee.....I'm real happy because I just made a back to back sale, which has been completely unheard of from my shop until now.

AND I could re-list both because I have more! Weeeeee! It was a good day.......

Re: Sale Celebration Thread!

Oh, great idea for a thread Kristina. (Can we include sales off Etsy, too i.e. fairs?)

Congrats on your two sales :) I have to admit, Matt and I always text or tell each other when we've sold something. It's very encouraging.

Oh yes, please tell us about craft fair sales too! I haven't done a craft fair before, but that's the dream :) I'd love to live vicariously through you for now!

Re: Sale Celebration Thread!

I can't wait to hear about how the Asylum went :D

I recently sold a bottlecap fascinator on creative georgiana which was my quickest sale from setting up shop to first sale. Infact all my shops seem to be getting a semi steady thread of interest that goes beyond just treasuries and favouriting.

Just give me more time! I will deliver! xx

Re: Sale Celebration Thread!

'Smug mode engaged'...! Yes, I had a really good time at the Welcome to the Asylum event in Lincoln, organised by the VSS (Victorian Steampunk Society).
I sold 16 items, making a revenue of £303.50 Not bad, eh? I only paid £70 for my half of the stall so I feel like I did well. Haven't worked out my profit...I'll have a go when my brain has recovered!

I had a lot of interest and people took nearly all of my business cards, probably about 200 at a guess. My own costume got quite a few lovely compliments and I was glad I'd finished my lace top in time..it was so hot. Windy too - at one point, a very strong gust knocked half my shop on the floor but thanks to some kind browsers and my brother, we rescued everything quickly. Note to self - take weights and strong clips that don't break next time!

Matt did really well, too, selling quite a few large pieces and lots of little one. We both came away feeling much more confident about our businesses and already bursting with ideas about what to make next. I could have sold about twelve pairs of gloves had I had M and L sizes at the ready. I took two pairs and one sold, the other was too small for most people...the one they really fitted reluctantly passed up an offer to haggle..oh well. I nearly bought a compass/sundial myself. (I've made a note of the shop...well, it was our neighbour!)

I'll be putting up a couple of blog posts as soon as I get the photos and linking like mad!!! I've lots of photos to take now of all the stuff I came back with that was made for the event. Nine of the sixteen items didn't make it as far as Etsy!

So, who else has had a good sale recently?

Re: Sale Celebration Thread!

Yes, congrats Sally-Ann! Sounds like your weekend was a success! It must have been really helpful for you to engage in some live action, face to face feedback and selling. And oh, how fun that you gathered some new team mates!

I have another sale to report! I couldn't believe it, my third sale in 5 days! Fall weather suits me just fine!!

Re: Sale Celebration Thread!

It was lovely to be able to chat to our buyers and interesting to see that a few who browsed and went away came back and purchased! My Edwardian Tea Hat has found a new home with someone it really, really suits! I was buoyed up by all the appreciative smiles and kind compliments. Now I'm in a photo/listing frenzy. I made a lot!

Well done Kristina! Yes, I've just started adding fall/autumn into my tags if at all appropriate. It helps that a lot of my favourite Steampunky colours are Autumnal :) Wishing you continuing success!

Re: Sale Celebration Thread!

Yay! Congrats on your sale Sally-Ann! Ha, I always worry about things fitting too. You try to be as descriptive as possible, but you just never know right? I also think what if they don't like it?? But chances are they will or they wouldn't have ordered it right?? Ha, I worry too much.

Anyone else have a sale they'd like to celebrate?

Sold :) A local sale, too.

This, after staying up late last night on Hike Those Likes on Facebook where, even though the pic they chose to feature was a fuzzy one that I'd forgotten to replace, I gained over 100 new Likers! I am now intending to 'Hike' twice a week up until December.

It is important to celebrate your sales, tantamount, in act, to a healthy dose of self-respect. So put aside any self depreciating notions of 'blowing your own trumpet' or other unhelpful beliefs and post here! Let us celebrate your hard work, won :)

Re: Sale Celebration Thread!

I don't understand "Hike the Like"! I just made a FB page for my biz, a bit late to the party. Can you explain the Hike a bit to me???

Re: Sale Celebration Thread!

Wooo hoo, this past month I've made almost $550 from my art! While I know some of you are able to pull much more than that, but that's by far my most profitable month! I wish I could go down to part time and see if this is just how much I can make all of the time & not have it seem like a fluke!

Re: Sale Celebration Thread!

Yay congrats Sally-Ann! Going to the post office with parcels is a good time!

I don't know why this is, but all of my sales come in clusters of three! It's very weird. It'll be really quiet and then all of a sudden I make 3 sales in two days and I feel like I'm actually running a business! Then quiet again. So strange.

Re: Sale Celebration Thread!

I feel extremely blessed, that since I designed and listed my steampunky elfy coat just over a month ago( I REALLY need a name for it!!) I have sold 21 coats!! (16 on etsy)
I can hardly believe the popularity of them! I'm super excited about them. I think my timing (for a change) has been spot on!
