It occurred to me that providing a space for new members to introduce themselves would be a good idea...then it occurred to me that even members who have been a part of this group might like to say a bit about themselves.

So, a brief intro, preferably with a link to your About page (if you've got one). Feel free to post one or two other links here for people to explore, a Blog, Facebook page or Twitter etc.

I'll start:

I graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 1996 with a BA Hons in Design Representation (Modelmaking). Coming from a family of 'sew and sews', 'knitwits' and modelmakers, I seem to have picked up a few skills here and there. I am also a Live Roleplayer, a trained Montessori Directress and a Reiki Teacher Practitioner (with the UKRF) but of late, aside from a few Reiki clients and an interest in personal development and Tai Chi, I'm mostly busy being a mum and getting involved in Steampunk. My creative impulse has re-awakened and now I'm doing the cliche: making stuff on my dining room table out of bits and bobs and inspirations.

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi Jamiee and Mo. Fantastic to meet you. :D

Jamiee "obsessive dabbler" I love that term, that's exactly what I am, unfortunately I'm such an obsessive dabbler I struggle to stick to something long enough to get it truly established.

There's a post called "Help me SEW!" this is part of my obsessive dabbling. At the heart of my dabbling there's always been a longing to do costume, but I've never been taught how to sew. I've got a good but easy to use sewing machine and a tonne of material and bits from charity shops like lace and beads and stuff. That's what Creative Georgiana is all about, but I'm trying to concentrate on Nevermore Dolls too.

Too many ideas and not enough time. (Or energy, I'm full of cold right now)

xx

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi! I'm Riley. I'm a newbie to the team. I'm totally inspired by Rockabilly, Pin Up, Retro kinda style. Right now I'm crazy into making hair bows but I love to create all kinds of stuff. I get bored quickly so I like to have a lot of different things in my arsenal. Call me a jack of all trades, master of none if you will. =) Anywho, I'm excited to be on Etsy. I've already found so many ridiculously amazing things and people here. It's awesome!

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hello! Just joined this team, I'm pretty new to Etsy & still finding my way around... I do hand-stenciled tees from original artwork -- lots of dark circus-, steampunk- & gypsy/traveller-inspired stuff... This is the first time I've really tried to sell stuff on the internet (rather than at festivals or to friends-of-friends) so any advice appreciated! :)

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hello! Thought it was about time I said hello and introduced myself (or possibly overdue)! I am a Stone-carver based in Manchester, UK. I did a Craft course at Lincoln Uni and decided to specialise in Stone, specifically Lettering. Since I finished however, (with a brief interlude into the grown-up world of 'real work' -ugh) I have broadened my horizons to include Sculpture and now I carve a variety of different things! My challenge has been to create items that can be both pretty and practical (as well as able to post!), so it is a work in progress and I am constantly trying out new ideas and designs. Looking forward to talking to people on here and exchanging inspiration, always a good thing! xx

Re: Introduce Yourself!

I love being where life is beautiful, thanks for having me! I'm an artist, a painter who also loves to make jewelry, create Vintage inspired collages, re-purpose all sorts of objects, garden, and more. I like living a creative life and my beautiful space is along the southern coast of Maine.

I'm going to browse the posts to see what the members of this team do. I look forward to 'meeting' all. Adrienne aka ambercolumbia

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hello! I'm Debbie from Marysville Washington in the rainy part of the state.

I love the Victorian era. Not just the fashions, but the culture and way of life. Manners and respect for one another were common place, as well as helping one another. (Yep- I tend to get on my pulpit here!)
I learned sewing and pattern making as a teenager from my Mom and Grandma, did costuming and prop design for the stage in college- as well as for the local high schools and theaters. I recently did all the goggles and jewelry for a Steampunk themed production of Urine Town for Village Theater.
A lot of my designs combine my passions of leather work and metal smithing.
Looking forward to meeting you all!

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Oh wouldn't it be nice to live in a society where manners, respect and dressing nicely were common place? Ahh, that sounds lovely to me! Well, we all certainly have manners here, we love to help each other, and I'd say that we probably have some of the best dressed bunch of ladies and gents! So I think you will fit in very well here! Welcome to the team!

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi again. I posted already on the main page I suppose. I was unaware of the introduction thread until now. So my name is Ryan, and I have always loved creating things and arts crafts..I have tried doing everything and a lot of times I get frustrated or overwhelmed, so I would just quit. Well I am now in m 30's and feel like I'm finally able to put things together the way they are meant to be, and I can actually enjoy making stuff. My paintings are inspired by the hobbies and subjects I love, I paint them all in the style and process of traditional American tattoo flash. I smoke pipes and cigars, so a lot of my work is related to that as well. For now I only have prints of paintings available in my shop, but am working on a few other things that I am excited about.I am not sure I am a perfect fit for this team, but I have liked a lot of stuff I have seen on the Pinterest board. I am looking forward to interacting with the team and am having a blast browsing the shops! I am going to get my wife on this team as well, she makes really cool hair clips that are very Victorian and I saw similar items on the Pinterest board..See you around!

Aww, those two chaps have no idea what's coming.

Don't worry about fitting in to our team, okay? A lot of the time I'm not sure I fit in either, but no matter, we just like to have a good time! Feel free to jump into any of our conversations and things.

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Thank you for the warm welcome Kristina! I woke up this morning to piles of "likes" on my stuff. A good friend of mine blends pipe tobacco, he created a special blend for Halloween called "Darkness Descends". I painted that for him to promote his product..the original had the title in large creepy letters. This one is one of my faves as well. Thanks for looking!

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi I'm Bianca and I live in the uk, I love sewing and crochet. I do cute very well but I prefer the darker side of cute myself!

I'm married with a gorgeous but poorly step son who spends a lot of time with my husband and I. I have 3 cats and also a chronic medical condition that means sometimes my use of language is kind of clunky. Thanks for inviting me to the group!

Welcome Bianca! Glad you've joined us. I have three cats too. Your shop definitely is very cute, and I'd say that the dark side of you shows. I Love your zombie Hambals:

We like zombies here. Well, we don't LIKE zombies, I mean, who does? We only like them in movies and tv shows, heh heh. Fell free to join in on any of our discussions and stuff!

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Bianca and Ryan, welcome! I can't wait to get to know you better as you two participate in the group!

Ryan - I'm a huge cigar fan, I want to get a beautiful pipe to smoke eventually... or maybe I'll burn one! Seriously, you may have just inspired me to open up a new aspect of my shop... And I love that calendar of yours!

Bianca - I want to hug all of your products, they are freakin' adorable. But I think my favorite is your Rover on Mars - I am a huge science geek and that is just an incredibly original idea!

I hope you two have fun here!

Hi Sarah! That's two things we have in common - I'm also an ex- Art and Design student in the UK. I nearly became a graphic designer but went on to do modelmaking. Good luck with your shop! I'm off to take a peek...
