What Works Best For You Regarding Time Spent On Etsy?

You have a lot of options available on Etsy to help market your business. But, you don’t want to spend your time spinning your wheels and you want to get the maximum return on your time spent.

You can favor people’s shops, the items in their shops, follow people or create treasuries. This, in turn, supposedly will give you more exposure as more people look at your shop and favor it or follow you. It gets compounded with the more people that see your shop. This team was set up to try to help give people advice from all of the team members. Numerous teams concentrate on topics that I mentioned.

I’ve found that you must analyze the time spent with the stat report and google analytics to decide where to spend your time.

What kind of response have you had for your business by favoring certain items, certain shops, creating treasuries and by following people on Etsy? Do you have any input for the amount of time you spend on Etsy and what are your results? Is there one effort that stands out the most with sales or potential sales? Are there better days of the week to spend additional time?

I have been trying to spend about ½ hour per day looking at other people’s shops, favoring some of their items or the shop as a whole and following different people that I feel would complement my business.

What works best to try to get sales on Etsy? What you do with your shop and your time on Etsy would be very valuable for all of us on the team. Maybe one of your suggestions will be the “golden egg” for someone else. I have not discovered the answer to my questions yet!

Re: What Works Best For You Regarding Time Spent On Etsy?

When someone starts to follow my shop, I always look at their profile and shop. I do not know what the protocol is on following, but I do not always follow back their shop. This is based on personal preference, but I am not sure if I am hurting myself by not following every one who follows me. Also, I do not have enough sales to make a judgement regarding what works best, so I have to say nothing I am doing is helping make any sales, but I am having fun, buying stuff, and learning. I have developing in me a sense of supporting fellow etsy shops by purchasing from them whenever I can, rather than a 'big' store, and everyone is very appreciative, but I do not think it helps sell my items.
I do not want to be on a team of nothing but card makers. I think that would defeat the purpose of teams.
