I was just introduced to this group by a fellow etsy member! I have rescued several dogs, foster and volunteer lots and lots of hours for the Chicago English Bulldog Rescue here in the Chicago area. (CEBR) is an Illinois non-profit (EIN 26-0256553), licensed shelter and 501c3 charitable organization. We have rescued and rehomed 700 pure-bred English bulldogs and service the areas of Chicagoland and suburbs, much of the state of Illinois, Northwestern Indiana, and a large portion of Southeast Wisconsin, including the Milwaukee metro area. We are an all-volunteer network of about 75 people and typically have about 30 english bulldogs in our foster care network at any given time.
For what on the surface may seem to be a “small regional rescue”, we have a very large following (38K on Facebook and 6K on our mailing list) of solid supporters that donate to our cause, attend our events, and support our business partners. Through this network of strong support, we are able to gain U.S. (and even international) exposure for the rescue, our adoptable dogs, and to help educate about the breed.
I am reaching out to you today to ask you to support our organization through participation in our biggest fundraiser of the year. CEBR’s Bully Bash boasts attendance by 700 people (and about 200 dogs). Held at The Odeum in Villa Park, IL, the event functions as an “Expo” and includes a full day of activities ranging from pet/human contests, to staged parades, an exhaustive list of vendors on site to educate and market about their products/services, breed specific education sessions, and the Silent Auction which raises a large portion of the proceeds for the day.
