I donate 10% off my sales to recue groups. I figure it's an easy way to help out. Over the years we have adopted so many animals and I really believe in not buying "new" pets!

I was thinking about crating really cute cap-sleeved tight (read pretty and cool and somewhat sexy) tee shirts that read on the front:

AND on the back:

Katie-- I think the T-shirts are a great idea to sell here on etsy. I would just use a different word than "observe" because sometimes people read that word as "if you believe in"---- maybe "if you SEE animal abuse or neglect, report it"

Love this idea...I make up little pictures of animals add text and use on cards to promate being a good pet parent or to help educate the public on animal abuse. I donate 10% of sales to the ASPCA, and post on facebook . IF anyone is interested in using the photos I will email the pic for free to use.

I donate 10% and also have listing for 100% donation to Wolfspirit's Toy Breed PuppyMill Rescue. They are a small rescue here in Ohio and I have adopted 3 chinese crested...1 is a powderpuff and a mother & son..mom is hairless and son is hhl.

Over the past 3 years I have done many paintings for them on tote bags and aprons to help raise much needed funds for the little ones they are able to pull from mills.

Grey -- I believe you just note in the etsy item listing (and if you want also your shop announcement) that x% of the money for the sale will go to X charity.

And then you would want to promote that/those items in teams, outside of etsy, and in your listing tags (eg. add a tag for the listing that reads "animal charity" or "animal donation" etc).

.....and then give the money to the charity. I don't know how it works re: taxes/ legality. I often say "100%" of sale donated, and then I pitch in the minus etsy fee and paypal fee...but I don't record it as a tax deduction. Sometimes I've done "50% of profit" etc.

I love donating my dog boots to shelters around the world when they have a raffle or tricky tray event. The more money they could bring in shelters for rescue the better it is for all of them pooches to get the medical care they need or make sure they are updated with there shots to get them ready for adoption.

myochum -- I have done that too, but with my handmade jewelry, donated to a raffle at a doggie event and the money goes to the organization/ cause -- great idea!

I volunteer as photographer for one of the local dog rescue groups in my area (the place where I got my two dogs). I focus on the older dogs, since puppies get adopted in seconds. They've seen an increase in adoptions now that the photos on their website are beautiful representations of the dogs, instead of hastily snapped photos in a kennel. I'm really happy to be helping this group. :)
