I rescued a turtle in the middle of the interstate yesterday. He was a painted turtle and very happy to see me since a semi truck just went over him. I had to run which I have not done since college, but I did it and got to him just in time. he wa on I-65 interstate in Indinapolis. He is fine now and living in Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis. It is a huge lake. We put him an inlet area,more of a wetland area on the edge of the lake and he loved him. We got to see some great white egrets I think that is what they are called or spelled? lol

Good for you, Kathy. We have rescued many turtles that way. I feel so bad for them. Once my husband held up some traffic because of that! It was worth it!

That is so interesting - I had no idea that ferrets were not legal in Ca. I know hedgehogs are not legal, but I thought the reasoning was because they had to be indigenous to the area. Good luck with your petition : )
