Reflections

Hello. Some of my jewelry items have a reflection to them. I tried using Photoshop.com, Paint, and an HP editing program, but to no avail. What would you suggest? Leave them as is, showing a reflection of myself taking the picture, or is there some other program or something I'm missing on how to remove the reflections?

Hi Tari.
I don't think you'll be able to remove the reflections using Photoshop or any other software without the photos looking artificial.
I think the best solution would be a light box. You can create one of free, simply line a box with white paper, cut out the front and top to let the light in and snap away. This should stop any reflections and distribute light evenly.

Do you think a light box would help with shiny objects? Some of the pendants I have are coated with varnish, and when I photograph them, they have those bright white reflections. I want the pieces to be seen as glossy in the photo, without the light being distracting.
