Need help using light box tent

I recently purchased a light box 'tent' kit, its 30x30 but the lights that came with it do not make it bright AT ALL. Maybe because of its size or... the bulbs i believe are 5000? there are 4 of them. Can anyone suggest what bulbs i should use for this (without spending a fortune) or tips for taking good BRIGHT photos in a light box of this size? thanks!

I am basically going through the same process. I think we need to be adjusting the digital image afterwards rather than trying to achieve all the brightness in the photo. I have purchased Photoshop Lightroom 4 to edit my photos, but I haven't installed or used the program yet. If I can figure it out, I think it will do the trick.

I would advise you use an 'Ottlite Bulb' energy saving (lasts ages) and produces a natural daylight glow rather than an orange one you will get off a standard bulb. The Ottlite can be found on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ottlite-Edison-Replacement-Screw-Fitting/dp/B005O6OAZ6/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qi...

Re: Need help using light box tent

Just redid the wide Martian horizon pendants by taking my cheap 30x30 soft box outside round 4:00pm and using natural instead of the cheap desk lamps I've been flooding the lightbox round the edges with. Check out how clean and white the colors have become!

Gotta get better with shadows from the front. Still vast improvement, don't you think?

I've been trying to use natural lighting too and it works well, but it really does need to be the right weather and right time of day!

Re: Need help using light box tent

I am considering purchasing a cheap light box tent from ebay. Do those of you who have one think they improve your photos (with correct lighting as I have read from above posts)? Thanks in advance.

Re: Need help using light box tent

I made my own light box and then my kitty Callie decided that it would make a nice house for her and well the rest is history as they say. I just bought a brand new camera so I hope it will help me take better, crisper pictures.

Re: Need help using light box tent

I bought some photography lights off of amazon for 40$ with 500w high output bulbs- they worked well to light up the box, but with my jewelry being so reflective, my camera and body was still making the jewelry look dark. Light box in full sun with a reflector (piece of cardboard with white paper or aluminum foil taped to it) works best. The website fotofuze has been helpful too! I wish that photography wasn't such a huge part of etsy! I just want to work on jewelry! lol If anyone has the chance- check out my site and give some advice. The photos are still a work in progress

Re: Need help using light box tent

It always helps to edit your photos in a software like paint.net, and I know this doesn't help you now but I made my own light box for under a dollar

Best of luck! :)
