I always wanted to go to culinary school. Unfortanetly I didn't realize how mush I loved to cook before I was already in a busines college. I am at a point in life I don't want to go back to school not even culinary.
Hello! I'm by no means a professional or real chef...but I've always loved (good) food! I'd also been fascinated with cooking and what goes into making great food for quite a while, so a few years ago (about 4 or 5), when I started thinking about how I'd live when I left my parent's I simply decided to start cooking. Like most people (I guess), I got the basics from my mom, and then just decided to start experimenting. Though I used to watch a fair bit of cooking shows on tv, I never actually follow recipes (unless it's some complicated kind of dessert - my weak point, as I'm more of a "salty" person), instead preferring to use cookbooks and tv shows as references and inspirations. Needless to say my first experiences...didn't go extremely well, though they were mostly edible and some even tasty! Later on, though, I started getting some support and praise (mostly from my mom, who was quite pleased that she didn't have to cook dinner anymore!), and got more and more into it. I've even been running my own cooking blog for these past 2 years ( www.rexscookbook.blogspot.com )! Now, I live in London (a bit far from Portugal, where I used to live), and cook everyday for my and my lovely girlfriend Filipa (you might know her from the FatPurpleBird store). Together, we decided we'd try to start selling some of our cookies, as whenever we bake them they just seem to instantly disappear! I hope people like them as much as we enjoy baking them! :)
