Blog Question

I'm thinking of starting a blog. This would not be primarily to promote my shop at all, but more of a personal project where I can post some creative writing and other reflections.

Well, I have an ad that I have paid to place on some other (high traffic) blogs. I worked hard on creating the ad and am pretty pleased with it, so of course I would want to include it on my own blog, if in fact I do start one. :) The ad measures 250 x 300.

My question is, will putting this ad on a blogger, typepad, or wordpress blog be a simple matter? Any recommendations as to which service to go with to achieve my objective?

If any of you Hermits can answer this, I would be most grateful!

Leah - I have no idea about sizing, but I know on blogspot (which is really straight forward) you can design your own template, add links, videos, photos, and widgets/gadgets. It all depends on your layout. They do have ad sections as well.

A blog is a lot of fun. But you do have to stay on top of it. At least once per week. From what I understand, people don't want "stale." That's the advice many people gave me and I took it to heart.

You just have to set aside the time. It IS a lot of fun. I'd read it! Poke around blogspot - because that's the one I'm familiar with - and see what gives. Then poke around wordpress, etc.

The advice I got (see the fb thread) was that you have to be "available" so to speak. If you rely on only one type of outlet on the web, you'll be lost in a sea of entries. I hope that makes sense.

You can post an ad or image onto Blogger by uploading the picture to a gadget. First, I'd resize the image (if it's too large to fit into the area you want it to go). Hope this helps a bit...took me awhile to figure it out.

Thanks for the replies, Emerald and GoHeyJudy. Good to know that I can post my own ad on blogger. I suppose I should go look around at templates to see what will work best for me.
