shipping....advice?

ok, so i've made a few sales(yay!) but i've really taken a hit on shipping costs-more than 1/2 of the listed price of my items- i don't want to make the shipping so muh that it wards off any potential sales-any advice?

Re: shipping....advice?

I've seen a listing or two for shipping charges only. Is this a good idea?

Re: shipping....advice?

Actually it is against Etsy rules to have listings for shipping only

I actually use an food scale to weigh out my packages, so I know how many ounces they weigh before shipping. It takes quite a few sales before you are a bit more intuitive about weight.

I see people raise their item cost, and offer free shipping, but I personally don't like that approach.. because I figure they jack up the prices. That being said, I notice that some of your items are in glass... Glass is really heavy. I would just include in the listings that these items are not made of flimsy material, and are therefore a little heavier. Just let them know that they are paying for quality.

PS. check out Uline packaging materials You may be able to reduce the packaging cost.

Check out the cost of first class versus priority flat flate. You should also check out international shipping before offering internationally.
