Need some honest feedback.

No sales as of yet. What am I missing? What can I do to improve? I realize that I don't have alot of items for sale, but am working on that. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Good Morning Michell!

I just had a look at your page. You're right on about needing to get more items up. I imagine creating detailed jewelry pieces takes a fair amount of time, but it will definitely help to get more views in your shop. There is a statistic that 20% of your items in your shop will be your real sellers. If you increase your inventory you increase that 20%.

I also notice that you don't have a banner. It may seem like a little thing, but having a nice banner makes you look more established as a shop and not like someone who just decided to throw a couple items up to sell one day as a whim.

Lastly, you should try to get more involved in the etsy community. Social networking will get people interested in you as a person and that will make them more interested in what you have to sell. Try adding some more shops and items to your favorites list. Even if you don't intend to buy anything it's encouraging to know that people like your things. Treasuries and circles are also a great way to get involved.

We all come here with high hopes and big dreams. With patience and a little work to market ourselves we'll get there. It's the waiting that's no fun. :-/

I am also new and wanted to respond to one of Kwirk Creative's comments. I have been hitting the Etsy community hard and have seen a large jump in page views since then. I make it a point to comment on every Etsy blog post and participate in every team I am associated with. I also create treasuries and "heart" people.

I just joined this team and it seems like a great place to learn. This is only my second week on Etsy, but still no sale.

Hi Leapingcatstudio I just had another look at your shop also and you already have a new banner! I think your jewelry is well made and unique...everyone here has good advice, definitely add more items if you can.

I am in the same boat, no sales yet and I have been trying all the above suggestions...if you all have time for another honest critique I would love your input

Love your jewelry! I'm also a jewelry maker, and love all the unique pieces in everyone's shops.
I've been making treasuries, and I've made new contacts that way. Plus, it is fun! Love helping other peoples items get promoted.

I see you're also getting more involved in the community here as well. I have to say that the people here are one of the reasons I love Etsy so much. The team support and encouragement is such a big help in staying positive.

If you think about it, this is a great time to work on new designs, creating more stock, and getting to know other people and there shops. I haven't had a sale yet, either, but I feel more positive knowing that I am being productive and using my time wisely.

Hi, I am new to Etsy (had been on ebay for years) but I like the "atmosphere here much better. i only have a couple of items up but will posting more through out the week. I make jewelry for pets and people. I love all of the suggestions because I am really lost. I was feeling very alone so I am glad to find this group.

I saw your jewelry and really like it. I clicked on a couple of items because the main picture didn't tell me enough. I didn't see any "action" shots, someone actually wearing the item. I think, especially with some of your hardware jewelry, that a shot on an arm or around the neck would show people how it lays. The bracelet I clicked on, I did get a sense of how it lays after viewing all the pictures, but it isn't what I thought it was when I saw the initial picture. Just a suggestion. I can't believe you haven't had a sale yet. You make interesting jewelry. I bet if you could get featured on the front page of etsy, you would sell out fast. Now, how to get featured...
