Awesome Hello Kitty Kimono

Thanks to the help of the Etsy crew (especially Ya!) I now have the three matching Kokka brand Hello Kitty fabrics I need to make a Hello Kitty-themed yukata and matching purse! It will be amazing! Thanks to everyone who helped. By the way, is it a fashion taboo to make a yukata with a lining? I have sensitive skin and the seams of an unlined yukata would irritate me something awful.

This sounds like it's gonna be awesome!!! Do you sell them?? Can you post pics when you're done? I hope so!

Cheers!

Re: Awesome Hello Kitty Kimono

I don't sell kimonos yet. I've only been sewing for a year, and still need to learn how to size clothing to people. I can make a kimono if I have a pattern (ex. Simplicity or Butterick) and know the person's size. Problem is, I wouldn't know how to price something until I have purchased the materials and know what they cost. I would not be completely against doing a commission if I knew what pattern someone wanted me to use and what fabric they wanted. I would need at least part of the money in advance to buy the materials. I try to do special, custom items (ex. recently made a Hello Kitty tag blanket for my cousin's baby.)

But I will definitely be posting photos of the Hello Kitty yukata and purse once I finish them (:
