i have bought lots on heartsy, and most of the transactions have been great.

but you need to be a smart consumer, heartsy does feature resellers. do your homework, if you want links to soap wholesalers which resellers buy from convo me, it has really helped me be able to spot them in that category.

this has nothing to do with who is up today.

Jewelry is a huge culprit for reselling! they have a shop under "boutique" now that's a reseller, and I even emailed them proof and the person is still allowed to be featured on their site ripping people off. LOL

they told me they would "think 10 times" before featuring a seller they knew to be a reseller.

maybe sometimes they think 11 times? because i'm not so happy with what is going on with featuring resellers. to put it mildly.

The sad thing about soap resellers is that they usually have no idea about the products they are selling. Their stuff is usually inferior. And they give all soapers a bad name.

It really stinks for soapers who spend years working on their formulas, spending thousands of dollars on research, to see someone come in and sell stuff as handmade when in some cases they don't even have to label it - the wholesalers do that for them.

I can understand if Heartsy unwittingly featured someone who is a reseller, but if they do so knowingly that is another matter. If that is their level of integrity, I will have to very seriously reconsider my VIP membership.

I bought the same item listed in one of the shops (in Boutique) for only $3 on ebay, including shipping, from China. And the seller is charging $15 plus shipping.
I supplied 5 links to 5 different sites selling the item for 12 units for $6. (wholesale prices) And the shop is still there, and I didn't even get a reply back from them, in 2 1/2 weeks.

the reseller soap i've accidentally purchased is nowhere near the quality of the handmade soap i have purchased from wonderful artisans like swanmountain, thistledelight, and many others.

i haven't checked the heartsy boutique since the first day they opened it, so i may be wrong here-

but is the jewelry for sale altered in any way? if it is, such as adding a charm, then it's hand-assembled and is allowed on etsy.

but yeah, the soap reselling has really, REALLY pissed me off. i'm not savvy enough to tell at a glance if it's handmade or being resold, so i end up not purchasing at all, a lot of the time.

water, there are lots of great soapmakers! please don't stay away from all because of some bad apples. feel free to convo me for a list of the wholesalers, or i'd be happy to suggest some sellers if you'd prefer that.

Resellers yes gives us a bad wrap {{shakes head}}} just not fair all the money, time ,etc that goes into get the perfect blends for fragrances, oils to find that "perfect" formula. Makes me sad that they are here in heartsy from time to time.

yep, please don't stay away from the great soapmakers because of some fakes! i'm telling you, i started using handmade soap and it has revolutionized my showers. no joke. i use it as a shampoo, too.

See i never even thought about soap resellers. I always thought "wow people sure do make similar items" lol. I do notice the jewelry a lot more but I guess because its in my category.

This too makes me sad. Soap makers (the real ones) put in alot of time, money, effort, energy into creating their goodies. this is supposed to be a Handmade venue (handmade by YOU-the seller) and for people in any trade to take advantage of buyers here is just wrong. It has to do with integrity and so many just don't have it anymore.

Well, the way these people word their shops, they really make you think they make it all themselves. Of course, most of the wording is ripped off from the sites where they bought their stuff from in the first place.

I'm sorry but resellers just have no class. If you want to buy something and market it somewhere, fine - go open a retail shop. But to pretend that you made the items yourself is just really low. Why sell it here, where it's against not only the rules, but everything Etsy stands for? Why not just sell it on ebay?

And really, making the stuff yourself is not rocket science. Some people are afraid to work with lye and use melt and pour bases - and tht's great! They put their creativity into it.

The only creativity these resellers have is finding ways to dupe people.
