Using your "credits"

When you vote "yes definitely + credit" for a deal, how do you go about using that credit when the deal goes live? Does something show up on their deal or do you have to go through the purchase process before you see some sort of credit applied?

I had some credit applied to certain deals and now it is not showing up where they usually are and I don't get new credit to apply until a certain date. So I'm wondering where these "credits" went and how I go about applying them.

Guess I'm still not understanding this Heartsy change.

Re: Using your "credits"

Same here. Had credit applied to two so far that just disappeared. The way it reads, it almost seems that the deal has to go live the same week you apply the credit to the vote. Which, with as long as the Heartsy process takes, will never happen. Anyone out there actually get to use one yet?

I was wondering the same thing. I know I applied credits to a deal and it is live now, I recognize the photos. Hope someone else has been able to get the answer.

Re: Using your "credits"

I just talked to Heartsy. They said that when a feature that you voted for and applied credit to comes up it will show you the credits (doesn't have to be in the same week). They are working on putting it on the "MyHeartsy" page and it should be up by the end of today. Hopefully they will get it figured out and have it working.

Re: Using your "credits"

Yeah. I had applied the $5 credit to a shop the last two weeks. During the week that shop was in "My Heartsy" under Votes and at the end of the week, it disappeared both times. Each of the shops definately made the required votes from threads here. It does say they expire at the end of each week in the rules below. I was wondering how they were going to pay out on that 5 x over a thousand voters every week. I guess this is how. They all expire before they can possibly be used.

1.Every week you receive 5 credits to apply towards deals that you rate.
2.You can attach any amount of credit (1-5 credits) to any deal you rate "Yes, Definitely + Credit."
3.You can transfer credits among deals within the rating week.
4.If a deal you have applied credit to goes live, you receive the attached credits as a discount.
5.At the end of the week any unused credits will expire, and you will receive 5 new credits to apply towards new deal ratings.

Re: Using your "credits"

The credits that you applied do not expire, Only the credits that you didn't apply. So you only have 5 credits per week and can't build up a large amount say 20 to apply to one deal.

They are working to put all of the deals you applied credit to on the "myheartsy" page, so it will be more visible. The credits that are applied will be discounted once that deal goes through.

Heartsy won't be paying out tens of thousands of credits because only a fraction of the deals even make it through and the chances are many of them do not have the credits applied to those particular ones.

Re: Using your "credits"

Well that's good. I thought they were gone. They actually were on my "myheartsy" but not anymore.

Here's a question. If shop A has 300 votes that require a $5 credit and shop B has 50 that require a $5 credit, do you think that weigh into the decision making on Heartsy part as to who they are going to feature?

Re: Using your "credits"

That is a good question, JustChains. I wonder if it does influence the decision making process. I'm sure they weigh it in somewhere.

Re: Using your "credits"

JustChains...most likely it is just a different version of "Definitely Yes/Probably/etc......" And will factor in. Although I am inclined to think with that that they will feature the ones with the least amount of credits.

Although.....I was thinking as I was typing this. Could they be factoring that cost into the deals? Using your example of shop A, say if the shop owner agrees to a $11 for $25, and Heartsy tacks on $1-2 to make up for htat so everyone who buys pays $12 or 13 for $25. Heartsy would make out if a bunch of people didn't apply credits, but also cover the cost of the credits.
