My (not so good) Hearsty experience...

Having done heartsy once and had a lot of success from it before I decided to try again. And honestly, this time around has not been as positive...

While I still have my deal live until tomorrow am I have a feeling I will not even be selling half of what I did in July.

And quite honestly I believe this is why - A site like Heartsy, in my opinion, should not put sellers in the same category live on the same day. It's too much competition and honestly not fair...For example, I was featured on the same day as aTWO other people in the art category, one of which who is a SUPER seller (like in the 5 digit numbers of sales and i'm still in 3). Even though we do not sell the same kind of art, in my opinion, if you can frame it/hang it, it's pretty damn similar (ex. with jewelry, if you can put it on your finger, doesn't matter if it's plastic or a gem, still a ring).
That didn't really bother me at first but the more the deal went on, I started to get pissed and wonder if I would have done better if there were not 2 other artists being featured at the same time. And I honestly think that answer would be yes...

Another thing that really put a damper on the whole experience is Heartsy forgot to schedule me not once, but almost twice. I was supposed to be feature 3 weeks ago and the day of my feature, it was nowhere to be found. I contacted the guy who set it up (Andy) and though he was apologetic and offered to get it up right away I opted for a different date since I'd already lost about 10 potential selling hours on the site.
Prior to this new date I confirmed twice so I thought for sure they wouldn't forget me this time. But come the day of the sneak preview for VIPs once again, I was not on...I was lucky to get ahold of Jacqueline thru email around 1am (if you have the option of having a certain person set it up/help you, go for her, she's great) & sure enough Andy forgotten again and she put me up right away..

One last thing that didn't sit too well with me this time was that heartsy now holds your voucher earnings for 48 hrs after your 3 day feature (so 5 days, instead of you being able to take it out immediately). I pride myself on getting items shipped to customers asap (usually in 24 hrs) that I am hoping this delayed shipping (especially around this time of yr) doesn't put a damper on my feedback/customer service.

Anyways, there's my experience. If i sell a ton more vouchers in the next 16hrs maybe I will take back a little of what I said, but I don't think it is going to be that way :-/. Not sure if I would do heartsy again unless they guarantee me as the only art seller and that guy get's his scheduling s*hit together lol...

Thanks for sharing Shannon.

I am ready to ship on most of my orders too. But we cant till we receive the money? That ruins our reputation as prompt sellers.

I am wishing you plenty of sales, my friend. May you sell you!!

you could ship before you receive the money but i wouldn't risk it just in case someone returns the voucher after they make a purchase (which would be messed up but you never know)

Re: My (not so good) Hearsty experience...

Shannon,

The same thing happened to us in our flirtygirljewelry co-op shop. We were featured along side a jewelry seller who used even the same components as us (charm on a chain stuff). We opted for 150 vouchers and only sold 14, while the other shop had a better deal % wise and sold out.

It was a total waste of time, energy, and cost (for a bunch of packaging supplies).

It took a lot of back and forth with heartsy and they finally agreed to let us do another deal which is in a few weeks.

We were told that heartsy is over-run with jewelry, so many sellers are being featured along with one or two jewelry shops.

But it seems that all catagories are saturated now and you will be paired with same kind of shops.

I doubt they could make sure that there is only one art shop now.

Maybe ask for a re-do?

We are now going to have a deal which is almost too late for Christmas buyers. Maybe if they ask for priority.

They are really going to have to look at what they plan to do about this problem because many sellers are going to walk away.

@ Som - thank you! can't wait to see what you pick! :)

@rtisan - i actually sent them an email (nicely) complaining about the featuring multiple artists on the same day. We'll see what they respond. A redo would be nice. In the end I sold 24 vouchers which is ok, but i sold 51 in July and was really hoping for similar..
