Heartsy Suggestions

We got accepted today!!!! We have not responded back yet, not quite sure on the specifics that we want to bring to the table. ex: Pricing, what day is BEST to be featured, how many vouchers do we want to sell, etc....Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Re: Heartsy Suggestions

My advice is to definitely negotiate, negotiate, negotiate. You should have an idea about what your limit is whether it is the % discount or the dollar value of credit before you begin and be sure to stick to it. From my deal and reading about others' experiences it seems to me that the Heartsy folks try to get high value deals in terms of the amount of the voucher. For me this just wasn't possible as I couldn't be on the hook for all shipping charges, so I chose an amount that would cover most items in my shop but not the total amount once shipping was added in. It definitely took back and forth with John before he accepted but I was very firm and upfront that if it couldn't be that way, then I would have to pass. I was completely prepared to walk away from the opportunity if it wasn't right, but I think explaining my line of thinking helped him to understand my strategy.

Good luck!
Kim

Congratulations!
Figure out your profit margin. 70%? 80%? If it's high enough, try to offer a discount of 60-70%
Don't lose money on it.
the problem with my items is that my profit margin is only about 60% figuring only cost of materials. If i get accepted, I will hardly be making any money...

Does Heartsy always try to negotiate?

I submitted a deal, it's in the voting process, but no way I'm going to do any deal other than that because it would be too much loss. I hope they don't try to negotiate!

Re: Heartsy Suggestions

Rune...they wanted us to do $13 for $35..but we cannot do that. We are standing firm on the amount that we know we can do. They are very nice and personable. We have exchanged a few emails back and forth and are still finalizing everything.

Re: Heartsy Suggestions

I have a submission in the voting stage & I hope I don't get pressured to change my deal.... it's 9 for 20 or 55% off.
I considered 14 for 30 but I realized that would mean a loss on most of my smaller items.

Are they pretty reasonable when you explain your items simply have too high a cost or time involvement to do a deeper discount?
