Great idea for Heartsy (and for us!)

So someone in the forums brought up a great idea for Heartsy and I thought I would bring it up here in the team discussions to see what others thought...
I think most would agree that the biggest hardship from selling vouchers on Heartsy is the number of VIPs that buy the vouchers. What if Heartsy put a limit on the number of VIP's that could buy a certain voucher. I understand that Heartsy would be hesitant to do this, afraid that it might discourage people from becoming VIP members, but I don't think this would be the case if they had more shops featured everyday. Just crunch the numbers, figure out what a good ratio of VIP members there are, how often they buy vouchers and then just feature enough shops so that if one shop sells out of VIP vouchers, no problem! There's another shop over here selling similar items that still has 10 left. I think more shops would be willing to do a Heartsy promotion if they knew only a certain number of VIP vouchers could be purchased.
LOL! Sometimes I'm slow with stuff like this, and maybe this idea has been brought up before, but I think it's a great idea for both parties. What are your thoughts?

Honestly, I think a big problem with Heartsy right now to a lot of sellers is that they already feature too many shops a day. It would be against the seller's interest to be featured on the same day as a similar shop. Not only do we have to compete with all the shops already up there plus the boutique, but now more similar shops?

Also I think heartsy wants variety (or at least that's what they say) so they probably wouldn't want to feature similar shops on the same day (or even within a day or two).

Since the VIP thing causes a lot of pain to a lot of sellers, maybe they should do something like reward sellers for new VIP members they bring in.

if you don't like the number of VIP's who buy vouchers on deals where you offer an additional $10 to them, you can do a VIP only deal. if i ever did another heartsy deal, it would be VIP only.

I have found almost all my orders have been from VIP's maybe 5 came from non VIPS

If I went to go buy something more than once and they already had used all the vip vouchers up? I'd ditch my VIP status in a heartbeat. Hearsty would lose a ton of money.

Thanks for the feedback. You all brought up a lot of good points. I'm doing my first deal this Sunday (mostly to get rid of a lot of backstock) but I might consider the VIP only next time. Can you offer a flat 55% or whatever to VIP members only, or do they still want you to offer more to the VIP members, even if it is only open to them?

If you do a VIP only deal, you don't need to offer them any extra credit. Whatever your deal amount is, that's what it is for everyone. The trade off is that only VIPs can buy your deals, but for me, I didn't have a problem with that and it was well worth it instead of having the exposure from not knowing how much extra credit I would be eating from the VIP extra credit sales. I think at this point the VIP base is a pretty good size.

I think you are right. Hmmm... maybe it's not too late to contact them and possibly change my deal :)

If I do it again, I would do VIP only. I greatly underestimated how many VIPs would purchase my vouchers (of course, I was using the estimates that Heartsy provided me at the time).
